Had a small crack on top of plastic radiator. Noticed leak from here. Sealed up this past weekend. Over 2 months ago added a stop leak product. Was getting a little hot due to exsisting crack. Yesterday my radiator hose blew off and drained all coolant for the most part. Reattached and added more coolant to top off. Checked at home and let idle for 10 minutes in driveway - no issues no overheating...Today on the way to work no overheating - hose blew off again. Really tightened as much as possible and moved clamp closer to radiator attachment. Any thoughts?
Thermostat is randomly sticking shut. This happens sometimes after using radiator sealers. Get a new thermostat and drill two 1/16 inch holes in the thermostat 180 degrees apart. This will prevent any air trapped in the system.
Aluminum radiator
plastic top and base seal
tanks held in with crimps on aluminum radiator
find a local radiator shop to replace top seal and top plastic part
of that radiator
not as expensive as a new radiator
replace the thermostat
pressure is too much on that crack for any diy repair product
pop off hose at the wrong time =cook the motor

hey
u says that u didn't replace the thermostat yet
Your thermostat is sticking. DO NOT DRIVE if the car
overheats, you can do some serious engine damage, if you haven't done so
already. Get the thermostat changed out immediately.
What happened is
your thermostat is sticking. It was stuck and you saw it overheat (and should
have stopped immediately). The added pressure from having a stuck thermostat
pushes the fluild into the overflow.
The temperature may have gone back
to normal if the thermostat "finally" opened. However, since the thermostat is
sticking, it is unreliable and I would get it replaced.
Driving when the
engine overheats can easily cause gaskets, such as the head gasket to fail and
heads to warp. If this has occurred, you're looking at a new engine.
SOURCE: blown head gasket. what is the cause
Running hot will cause head gasget to fail. Or if head is not torqued properly, or a faulty head gasget. Pressure in cooling system means, blown head gasget or cracked head.

If the seals around the shafts of master and slave are tight, they may be concealing a leak with fluid bypassing the piston seals internal to the two assemblies. Either your master or slave cylinders need to be replaced ot have new seals installed. Once you find the culprit and have installed a replacement, you will have to bleed the lines to evacuate air trap in the lines.

Have you tried some rad flush?
this should clear the gunk out properly. and then if it returns it may be the head gasket leaking slightly.
I suggest flushing first then wait and see if it overheats again.

Bleed your cooling system. You have a air pockets in your system. Don't forget to run your heater full blast when doing so. Usually help to unplug your heater hose and flush out the heater core then work on getting it filled and getting all the air out of your system.
