1998 Mitsubishi Montero trailer lights don't work

There are several potential reasons why the trailer lights on a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero might not be working:
  1. Blown Fuse: Check the fuse panel for a blown fuse related to the trailer lights. Replace the fuse if it is blown.
  2. Wiring issue: Inspect the trailer light wiring for any signs of damage or corrosion. If there is damage, repair or replace the wiring.
  3. Bad Ground: Make sure that the trailer lights have a good ground connection. Test the ground connection to ensure it's making a good electrical connection.
  4. Faulty Light Bulbs: Check the trailer light bulbs to see if they are burned out. Replace any damaged or burned-out bulbs.
  5. Trailer Light Connector: The problem could be with the trailer light connector. Check the connector for any signs of damage or corrosion. Clean the connector or replace it if needed.
If you are unable to resolve the issue, it may be necessary to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for further inspection and repair.

Most but not all dashboard lights have gone out on '97 Pathfinder. Where to find replacement bulbs?

if you have them out of the bulbs out of the vehicle, then you can take them to a parts store, like Autozone of NAPA. they should be able to either get or identify the bulbs for you. The image search should be what you are looking for and the price ($5.00USD) is about what the dealership would be asking, and that's per/bulb.

In my 2002 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2.5TD the compass backlight is not working when the lights are on. The volt meter on the left and oil pressure on the right are both OK. Is this simply a blown bulb ? and...

The bulbs work when the ignition is switched on. There are two very small bulbs at the back of the compass and can be sourced from a main dealer for around £5 a pair. Part Number MMR283314. Don't forget to order two, they come in single packs. They burn out quicker than the normal bulbs as they are on, even when other dash lights are not. The main dealer will probably have to order the bulbs from Mitsubishi UK.

To fit: Prise off the top of the instrument cluster with a flat screwdriver. Remove two screws to release the pod from the top of the dash. Once free, unclip the wiring loom plug and socket.

Dismantle the instrument pod by removing four small screws. This will then allow you to remove a further six similar screws which hold the front 'glass' and instruments together.

Undo the wire connector on the compass. You may have to also take out the bulb holder from one of the guages to give you enough slack.

Once the wire is undone, you can slip the compass from the pod and you will see two deep holes in the back. Use a flat screw driver to reach down into the holes and engage the slots on the back of each compass bulb holder.

Turn the bulb holder a few degrees to release and withdraw.

Reassemble by reversing these instructions.

My blinkers wont work but the hazards work. No fuses burnt out.

That would most likely be the switch itself. Fairly common

Compass back light not working

This problem is very common on this vehicles, I have a few that have the same problem, but to solve this, you need to remove the center gauges pod (very easy) remove all screws holding the compass unit (only) loosen up the wireing to have some slack when pulling the unit out, (do not remove the compass unit all the way out, just enought so you can check the back, with the help of a flat screw driver, remove the bulb from the unit, this bulb is deep inside and does not look like a light bulb, but is the only deep hole in the back of the unit, slight counterclock turn, remove light bulb with a dealer replacement (dealer only), unless someone has one, hope this helps.
