Stick your hands in the cup holder, press against the sidewalls of the cup holder and pull up, there are only 2 metal clips that hold the cup holder assembly in place, it will pop right out, once out check for things obstructing the cup holder lid or broken tracks, a new one is 90-115 bucks or about 20 at a junkyard, just went through this myself

How do I remove cup holder in center of dash?

There should be a rubber mat in the bottom of the cupholder that is removable for cleaning. The housing itself should be able to be washed with a warm soapy water solution then re-install the rubber mat.

Replace dash cupholder

Hi. This is an easy do. With the cup holder fully extended, slide a flat puddy knibe into the top **** between the cupholder and the the dash. slide it side to side to disengage the stops that are part of the cupholder while pulling out lightly on the cupholder. It should come out without much effort. To reinstall, just push the replacement cupholder into the slot. Good luck!

Volvo xc90 front seat cupholder cover on center isnt working

I had a problem with the back seat cup holders. You can actually remove the whole console. I took mine to the dealer and they fixed it for free. They did not even sell me my car. Here is the link to the manuals:

I hope this helps!

How do you remove the cupholder?

For the indash center cupholder, you need to remove that odd-shaped panel directly below it on the lower dash. There is 2 screws you can remove from there and then there are 2 more on the sides of the cup holder you can see from the front when the holder is in the open position... be patient and wiggle it around a little it will come out of there!

Let me know how you do..

An Item Has Fallen Into The Space Behind The Cup Holder? Help.

I recently had to retrieve a small object (camera battery) that was dropped in the cup holder. The battery allowed the cup holder to close properly, but it would not allow the cup holder to open all the way, making the cupholder useless. Getting access to remove the object was quick and easy - all it takes is a small flat blade screw driver. Use the screw driver to gently pry up the wood trim panel in front of the cup holder. Be sure to pull it up evenly from both sides and it will pop out of its retaining sockets. You'll then have the access you need. When you've finished, just realign the wood trim piece and tap it back into place. You can see a picture of where to pry at http://info5000.com/LS400_trim.jpg
