Loud whining noise especially on exceleration in 2010 Mazda Tribute

A loud whining noise on acceleration in a 2010 Mazda Tribute could be a sign of a few different issues. Here are some potential causes:
  1. Power steering pump: A whining noise can be an indication of a failing power steering pump. The noise may increase when the steering wheel is turned.
  2. Alternator: If the whining noise increases with engine speed, the alternator may be failing. This is because the alternator is responsible for charging the battery and powering the car's electrical system.
  3. Transmission: A whining noise during acceleration could also be a sign of transmission issues, such as low transmission fluid levels, worn bearings, or a damaged gear.
  4. Differential: A whining noise that increases with speed could also be a sign of a failing differential. This is the part of the car that transfers power from the engine to the wheels.
It's important to have a professional mechanic diagnose and fix the issue to prevent further damage to your vehicle.

1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse whining noise from the rear when accelerating

A whining noise during acceleration usually, is from the gear set, indicating the pinion is too close to the ring gear.
I believe the eclipse is a FWD car though. Could it be the transmission you are hearing?

Discovery 3 MY09 TDV6 front end whine under load acceleration

When you say whine does it only occur under acceleration only? If so most likely the wheel hub assembly or some will say wheel bearing but on these vehicles it is complete hub assembly. If you turn or swerve one way then the other does it go away in one direction? If so another strong indication of hub wearing out. If not, and it is a really high whine with acceleration it is also possibly the transmission. I have heard of this complaint before, it's not a sign of failure just a noise that develops due to the pressure placed on bearing under a load. First change fluid and filter for tranny after a good flushing. Replace with high quality fluid and a bottle of transmission seal restore product. Go 1000 miles, change fluid again, if noise is still there turn up radio.
Sorry but just a whine under acceleration isn't a lot to go on. But I'm willing to bet wheel hub. 9 out of ten front end whine complaints is wheel hub or bearing especially on a heavy 4x4 suv

Whining noise while accelerating in 1st gear

Check the idler and tensioner pullys for your serpentine belt. I suspect the whining noise heard earlier was due to the fact one was getting a bit stiff or rough turning. When you gave it that extra fuel, the sudden load may have finished it off. Sometimes they lock up, and sometimes they fall apart. Check those items first.

Whining sound from under van only when i push the gas.

The serpentine belt is the most common cause for whining sound when accelerating, try to understand if noise is coming from serpentine belt.

Also check power steering belt under steering column, and also the rotor and chain, thei do not make whining noise , but can make noise when accelerating.

The belt is first suspect.

Miata whines only when accelerating

Have you tried to narrow the noise location. is it comming from the transmision safety plate? is it comming from the belts, or a pully? Have someone litely step on the gas and try to reproduce the noise while not in gear. If possible locate the noise, or narow it down to some sort of location. There are just to many variables to say what it is at this point.

Let net me know once you get more info
