2003 Hyundai Tiburon Gt rear brakes

How do I take off the rear brake rotor? And what size it the socket that I would need to take the center off? And would I have to repack the bearings if needed?

Hi not conversant with the tiberon in uk but will try to help ? if you remove the rear wheel then look at the brake disc (rotor) most hyundai rear discs on uk models are secured to the rear hub by 2x screws posidrive or tork heads ? if this is so on yours then no problem you will have to remove the caliper first from the carrier 2xbolts h/brake off then undo 2xbolts securing caliper carrier tosuspension stub assy your disc /s are most probably vented discs? or may be standard discs? remove the screws then you may have to hit disc from behind with hammer to jolt free as they are sometimes rusted on due to high temps and rain ideal conditions to create rust as you prob know? re assemble is reverse hope this helps ?

Never hit the surface of the rotor, you will scar it up and or make a high spot that the pads will then contact. It's better to hit the rotor in the middle part where all the wheel lugs are. Don't hit a lug, you may need to use a bar or punch to get in there but this will not harm, chip or distort the rotor.

Can i use a different rear caliper for 2003 Hyundai Tiburon?

The twist is to compensate for break wear for your parking brake. Seeing how you shouldn't have to deal with it except at brake changes I wouldn't worry about it unless it is affecting brake performance.

I have a 2003 tiburon and I changed the rear rotors and pads but can't seem to get the caliper back on cause the lower guide pin doesn't slide like the upper one. I have never seen this before is...

YOU NEED TO COMPRESS THE CALIPER PISTON USING SPECIAL TOOL 09580 - 3400 OR YOU CAN USE A LARGE C CLAMP AND THE OLD BRAKE SHOE NEXT TO CALIPER PISTON.BE SURE TO SIPHON OUT 1/3 BRAKE FLUID OUT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER BEFORE COMPRESSING CALIPER PISTON BACK IN THE CALIPER BORE.WHEN YOU FINISH REPLACING REPLACING REAR BRAKE SHOES.MAKE SURE BRAKE MASTERCYLINDER RESERVOIR COVER BACK ON RESERVOIR BACK IN PLACE.THEN PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SEAT BRAKE SHOES AGAINST ROTORS AND UNTIL YOU GET FIRM SOLID BRAKES.THEN CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.DONT DRIVE CAR IF BRAKE PEDAL FEEL SOFT NOT FIRM.CHECK FOR LEAKING BRAKE HOSE OR LEAKING CALIPER PISTON SEAL.

What does it take to replace the front wheel bearings on a 2003 Tiburon

the front wheel bearings on your car are not sold except as a front wheel hub assembly with the bearing pre-installed, they run about $100.00 each, to replace them requires no special tools, all u do is remove the wheel, the brake caliper and the brake rotor and the hub nut, then the hub just slides off, u will most likely need a very large socket for the hub retaining nut.

Change front wheel bearings

u will need to remove the brake cailper and the the brake rotor, then the hub retaining nut, that is a large metric nut, the bearing and hub must come off, then u will need to take this hub to a machine shop or the dealer and have the new bearing pressed in.

I have an 06 hyundai tiburon gt v6 and im replacing the rear brake pads but the caliper pistons seem to be stuck! is there any way they are tied into the front brakes r is this just stuck caliper...

On cars with 4 wheel disc brakes the rear calipers are what they call racheting. The pison needs to be turned clockwise at the same time you are pushing in.This mechanisum is for the E brake system. They make special tools for doing this that you can pick up at your local parts store.

Emergency brake is stuck and rear tires are locked up

is it snowing if it is and this is a manual tranny try to leave it in gear one night and not ingage the e brake sounds like it is freezing up on you. snow can get in there and when you stop it freezes the brakes in place you could try and put some hot water on the rear brakes and see if it frees them up. hope this helps you
