The code should have been provided with the car along with the literature pack and spare key. If not the previous owner might still have it so it would be easiest to check there first.
Failing that or the original supplying dealer having the code in the sales file there are three options.
Remove the radio and note the serial number and then provide proof of ownership and the VW dealer will provide the code for a price.
The serial number is still needed and there are a number of interweb sites that have a fair degree of success generating codes.
The third option is to find a guy with a laptop and the right software who will decode or recode the unit.
You can only get your radio code from the dealership. The code is retrieved by removing the radio and finding the serial number for your particular radio. You can either remove it yourself or pay to have the dealership do it. One other thing you might try is looking around in your glove box or in the owner's manual. There might be a sticker with the code printed on it hidden in the glove box or if you're not the original owner of the car, the previous owner may have written it down in the owner's manual.
the code number is included in ur owners manual, there will be a booklet for ur radio with the code number. find ur booklet, but if the previous owner has done what they should have, the code will have been removed from the book and well your stuffed really, unless its still there as i was lucky enough to find with my recent car.
in this country no dealers keep the codes for any radio as they can be changed by the owner, the handbook says "make a note of the code"so unless you or the previous owner made a note, your stuffed,
you will need to get the radio recoded by a specialist in yellow pages...dont tell me, you havnt heard of people stealing radios......so you didnt ask for a code....
no. that is the serial number. look in your owners manual package, hopefully someone wrote down the radio security code. if not, you will need to brings that serial number and possibly you VIN number to a MB dealer and get you radio code.
I assume you mean radio, we have not way to access previous post that u may have read, so in short always post the problem, as far as the code goes you must remove the radio and record the serial number on the radio, then the dealer can look up the code with that number and your vans Vehcile ID number.
there usualy wrote down in the radio mannuel ( by previous owner or on a radio key card, there only 4 digits long, failing that by an after market radio, or see a renault deelership.
First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)
To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .
If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION
quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING
note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number
If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive
need model and chassis number of radio ,which means removing radio to find the chassis number for it,has previous owner wrote it on the sun visor?? i do with all the customers cars ,PRECAUTION they invariably lose the card it comes on
