FUSE My daughter was rear ended & now the trunk is pushed in causing the light in the trunk to stay on & raining the battery. I want to pull the fuse out so the light in the trunk will be disconnected, but am not sure which fuse it is. Can you tell me either the location on the fuse box for the trunk light? or atleast the amps (?) of the fuse so I can narrow it down?

I would like to suggest you are on the right track.
Next, try to find the fuse for the rear defroster, and try pulling that. That light may be a lit because of the "instruments" fuse, and if you pull that one, your instruments may stop working.
Fuses are both under the dashboard and also in a black plastic box under the hood of the car near a fender.
I might suggest there are 3 more common things that can cause the battery to drain.
1) a short in the alternator can cause this problem.
2) a short in the ignition switch, and
3) a short in the computer itself.

TO CHECK FOR A BATTERY DRAIN. TURN OFF EVERY SWITCH IN THE CAR. CLOSE THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. MAKE SURE THE LITE IN THERE IS GOING OUT. OPEN THE HOOD CLOSE ALL OF THE DOORS. MAKE SURE ALL OF THE COURTESY LIGHTS ARE GOING OUT. DISCONNECT ANY UNDER HOOD LIGHTS. DISCONNECT NEG. BATTERY CABLE. USE A 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT, FASTEN ONE END TO THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL, FASTEN THE OTHER END TO A METAL PART OF THE MOTOR. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON, THERE IS A BATTERY DRAIN. NO LIGHT, NO DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, PULL EACH FUSE, BIG & SMALL, ONE AT A TIME, OUT OF THE FUSEBOX THAT IS NEAR THE BATTERY. WHICHEVER FUSE MAKES THE LIGHT GO OUT IS CAUSING THE DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON THROUGHOUT THE FUSE PULLING, DISCONNECT THE ALTERNATOR. IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN THE ALTERNATOR, IT CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY WHILE SITTING STILL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS CHARGING THE BATTERY WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. GOOD LUCK

remove the ecm fuse, disconnect the battery neg cale and bridge it with a test light, if the light stays on there is a closed ciircuit in the car, pull fuses one at a time to find the circuit, then you know where to search

I have a 2004 Forenza. Don't know about the washer. The 15A fuse marked "I/P" next to the "Fuel Pump" fuse in the main relay center under the hood disables my trunk release and interior lights.
Found this out because the battery started to drain and die within a week. Several mechanics/electricians looked at it but couldn't figure out why. One pulled out that fuse and now the battery holds up fine. Problem is I don't have the use of the interior lights or trunk release.
Does anyone know what the cause of the battery drain is? Has something ground out? Btw, I got a small shock the last time I played with that fuse. Not sure if that's a sign of anything.

It sounds like you have a bad diode trio in the altanator. to test remove the belt off the altanator then turn the key on and see if the fan on the altanator spins if it does thats your problem. If not then get a 12 volt test light and remove the negitive battery post and put one end of the lead on the battery and the other on the cable. with everything off does it light up? Yes? then make sure the glove box light is not on, or remove it for a few days and see if the problem goes away if it does you have solved your problem. you can test it with the glove box light out with the test light. If the light stays on you can pull one fuse at a time to see if you pull a fuse it goes out. if it goes out with pulling a fuse then you have found the problem with the circut giving you the problem, after you loctae the fuse take it to a shop and tel them the fuse that stops the light from being on. It is normal for the roll bar to rise when top is down. It seems like the rear valance cover is not secured and the soft op does not understand what position it is in. There is a way to manually close top. it is stated in your owners manual. also I would try to close top with button(assuming your vehicle will start and the battery has good voltage) start car and try to operate top down and try pushing on rear cover also make sure the retractable cover in trunk is extended to compress operation switch

Parasitic drain? If so, did they run a test light on the negative terminal? Unhook the negative battery cable, run a test light between the negative battery post and the negative (removed) cable end. Does the light come on? If so, remove each fuse, one at a time, when you hit the circuit that is draining, the light will go off.

I have a 95 Buick Roadmaster and it was doing the same thing. It was a broken light in the trunk, the bulb was out, but the electricity was still there. The wire became damaged when my daughter overloaded the trunk. Just a couple of ideas...
