check your fuses

sounds to be a pinched wire or a bad unit. maybe the lock unit or light unit is grounding out

check for blown fuses/ and it maybe a relay switch that controls those switches

check your light contacts the main

check the wires under the passanger carpet ,they are likely to be corroded

Look for fuses and Relays, fuse box under left side under dash

pull the fuse first, see if that still happening. if not, you need to start to looking for electric short.
get a Hayes book or go to local lib. get a copy of the electric wiring diagram. and start tracing.
