95 Nissan Altima 4 pin electrical connector to the distributor.

The 4 pin electrical connector attached to the distirbutor fell apart. I put the individual pins in by hand, out of sequence. The engine would'nt start or turn over but it made a funny sound. I changed the sequence of the pins. The engine turned over but won't start. Did I do any damage when the pins were out of sequence?

You could potentially short circuit something, but most likely if it's wrong you'd blow a fuse. Google 95 Altima distributor connector and see if a picture shows the wire colors, and plug them back in matching the picture, or check ebay/amazon for a new one. Could be called Distributor connector, distributor wiring harness, distributor pigtail, distributor electrical connection, ect.

SOURCE: No trailer right turn signal or brake light

Hey Boon,

The pinouts for a 7-way plug are as follows:
Seven wire Trailer plugs:

Horse, stock or utility trailers:

White = Ground - 1
Blue = Electric Brakes - 2
Brown = Tail and clearance lights - 3
Black = Battery, aux power - 4
Yellow = Left turn/Brake - 5
Green = Right turn Brake - 6
Orange or Purple (not both) = Auxilliary or Reverse - 7

Recreational Vehicle:
White = Ground - 1
Blue = Electric Brakes - 2
Green = Tail and clearance lights - 3
Black = Battery, aux power - 4
Red = Left turn/Brake - 5
Brown = Right turn Brake - 6
Yellow = Auxilliary or Reverse - 7

In both cases 4 is battery and 7 is reverse, aux or not used.

Double check your wiring using these lists as a reference.

This should get us closer to the answer.

If you don't have a check engine light that lights up on the dash when you turn your ignition key to on, then your ecu has gone bad, internally.

1999 Nissan Altima stalled after i took it to car wash did water make it stall

use a water dispersant to remove all the water from the spark plugs ,HT leads and all harness connectors. IF you have access to compressed air, blow out all electrical components --distributor ,coil/packs, wires harness connections , ECM connections , distributor cap.

95 NISSAN ALTIMA TURNS OVER WONT START AIR FILTER SMOKING

Its probably back-firing in the intake - which means it is firing early or the fuel mixture is very lean.
This engine uses a distributor cap and rotor, so I would start there and make sure the cylinders are firing correctly.
If the ignition checks out ok, it could be a problem with the cam timing.

Car has no power to move, after moves while after Jerks

it seems like you have oil going into your distributor housing (the one onto which the distributor cap is attached and into which the electrical connector plugs). I had it replaced at a cost of over $500.00 but you can try drilling a small hole at the bottom of such housing to let oil drain, clean the internals with electrical de-greaser fluid, and then you are ready to go. Good luck.

1995 ALTIMA

We just changed the distributor on my daughter's '95 Altima. We had to order from the local NAPA store, it was in the next morning. It was an easy replacement....my father-in-law did it, but I think I could have done it. You just need a screw driver. Good Luck.
