can only be in 3 places 4 deeper.

in mid block (yes funny placed) Bingo?
at fly wheel edge or hidden behind it (trans pulled then fly)

finding some parts for Isuzu cars, is very hard lacking real dealers with all parts. but you can buy this in any store. after market parts abound, you can not mix sensors from one engine to the next.
do not attempt that, match your engine, and year,!

What is? It tells the ECU what position the crank is in to control timing.

Need to know more. Is it petrol or diesel. If diesel is it the 3.1 or 3.0. Isuzu changed engines that year (1998) from 3.1 to 3.0 common rail.

right front wheel arch, lift up rubber flap, look through to side of engine block and crank sensor is next to engine mount bracket

Its an easy job if you can get the car up high - like on a ramp .just one plug and one bolt to do .
The sensor is behind the exhaust pipe in the clutch bell housing in line with the main oil filter .

does the orange coil light go out before you turn key,if so,1st try a fuel additive like wynns/redexe (cost pennies)then,renew heater coils.

open the break pipe near to wheel cilenders take out the air from the pipe then the light will be normal and also check the fuse.

diesel 4JX1 engine
apply engine oil to threads
1st- 59Nm(43lb ft)
2nd- 60-90deg.
3rd- 60-90deg.

if its a 4JX1 diesel, yes it goes in 1 spot yet it can be bolted up in every location
put crank pulley timing mark to TDC can also check by removing cam belt top cover and check timing mark aligned up with mark at 12 O clock then flywheel has small notch in edge that must go at 6 O clock (facing down) look closely it is hard to see due to flywheel sunk into back of block.

Was it lined up right as the trigger point for the sensor is important.Is the fly wheel fitted one position only that the bolt holes line up or will it fit no matter which position it bolts up Line up the flywheel trigger with the sensor after you have put the engine to Top Dead Centre.Put at tdc and see if the trigger and sensor are together.
