This is a manual transmission? If so the clutch probably needs to be replaced. When you say "VIOLENTLY" what is going on, what is the road speed, what are the RPMs at? fuse, check hand book my guess is 1 window etc is stiff putting extra load on motor.

Audi give a 10 year anti corrosion warranty.
Take to dealer and get them to look at it. I took a 7 year old A4 down and they repainted the bootlid under warranty.
