The power steering pressure hose on the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer that I am working on failed due to rust. I purchased the OE style 2-piece replacement, and installed it in the truck. I cannot get the rack end to seal in the rack, even though the clip and o-ring are installed correctly. The end moves freely in the port in the rack, both in and out as well as side to side when properly bolted into place. I've compared the new part to the original, they are identical in size and placement. HELP!!
SOURCE: 2004 Mercury Mountaineer Emergency Brake Adjustment
Greetings larslabs,
My name is Dennis and I can assist you to finding your parking brake adjustment location.
1) the adjustment is located so that you have to remove your center console floor finish panel (this is the drink holder).
2) raise your parking brake lever and gently pry the plastic tabs from the center console.
3) Once you can see the park brake lever you will see a nut that is turned to adjust the lever so that it has 5 clicks when it is applied.
Glad to be of assistance and thank you for using FixYa. Please rate the solution because I can learn from your rating (and it keeps my rating up to date). Thank you, Dennis

SOURCE: How do you access the spark plugs 2002 mercury mountaineer
IIRC these are a coil over design. meaning the coil is over the plug. the coil should have one 8mm bolt holding it on the lower intake manifold. remove the coild to get to the spark plugs. look by the fuel injectors, coil should be just next to it or very close. coil usually says motorcraft on it and circle in design.
good luck

If the vehicle is made to be a AWD you cannot get it out of AWD unless you take off the front drive shaft
SOURCE: 2002 mercury mountaineer 4.0 starter relay location
The power distribution box is
located in the engine compartment.
The power distribution box contains
high-current fuses that protect your
vehicle’s main electrical systems
from overloads.
The starter relay is in position #56 of that box.
