What oil would be the best for my bmw 323i 2000 with 100,000 miles
SOURCE: 2000 bmw 323i service engine soon light code =
you can buy a cheap scanner that will put this light out,i have a mechanic working for me that stands on the roof ,tweeks the radio and has one foot on the brake whilst turning on the lights and he puts out nearly every service light you can think of but he wont show anyone least of all me,but if it its a 99 model iam sure you can put the light out by using a 12v electrical screwdriver with the light inside and a cable comes out the end with a clip .then going across the pins on the special BMW connector block it will go out with the resistance of the bulb across it ,but ??big but ?does it have an OBDII connector or the round BMW type because we dont have OBDII on pre 2005 cars here in spain .Now we do and guess what ??its all encrypted software used ...makes me a dinasaur

Do the following steps:
Move start switch to position "2".
Within the first 4 seconds after moving the start switch to position 2, press the reset button for the trip counter twice within one second. The display for the service request is activated for about 10 seconds.
Within these 10 seconds, move the start switch into position "0". The service request continues to be displayed.
Press the reset button for trip counter and keep it pressed.
Move the start switch into position "2".
Continue to hold the reset button for the trip counter pressed until the signal sounds and the new start distance appears in the display (it takes about 10 seconds). thanks Lee

Two issues:
Yellow dashboard light: If the light is shaped like a triangle with an apostrophe, then there is likely an issue with your Automatic Stability Control or Automatic Braking System.
This can also be caused by a wheel speed sensor. It is highly recommended that you take the vehicle to your dealer as this is a safety related issue.
Regarding the "skunky smell" (sulfur dioxide, rotten eggs):
If not related to the in-dash lights, then I suspect the engine is running too rich. Check the oxygen sensor signal to the ECU to determine if it is switching normally. The engine has to run a while to get the catalytic converter hot enough to function properly. If the O2 sensors on either side of the converter is getting a bad signal, then the engine will burn too rich and eventually clog the converter.
Just about any autoparts store can read the problem code for free so just drop by one and let them give you the code, then let us know what you find.
