Reset Nissan Altima seatbelt light which is flashing

I removed the passenger sweat and disconnected the wires. When I reinstalled the seat and reconnected the wires, the seatbelt light is flashing in the dash.

A scan tool is needed to reset the seatbelt light, unhooking the wires turned the light on as a fault, a scan tool will reset code. also make sure all connectors are connected good, the computer may reset itself after it sees a few key cycles and tests the system and it passes but it may take awhile. i have seen some that will stay on until they are reset, if the light is still on after all this time then a scan tool will be needed to turn off the light. good day.

SOURCE: 1994 Nissan Altima Passenger Door won't open

Since you have the door panel off, pul the rod for the door lock manually inside the door, this should unlock it, if it does not, there is a small push button, basicly a little peice of metal on the latch itself on the door latch inside the door, push it down this should pop the door open, you may need to spray all of the mechinisms with white lithium grease in a arosol can.....

SOURCE: How do I change the passenger side headlight bulb on 2001 Altima

Open up the hood, and go in behind the fixture where the light is located. Sometimes there is an access panel on top. Open it and reach down inside and grab the bulb’s socket. Twist the socket a quarter turn counter clockwise, and pull out the socket. Grab the bulb, and pull it straight out. To replace the new bulb, never touch it with your bare fingers, as this will greatly shorten the bulb's life, if it even work's at all. Use a tissue or something else in that order to handle the new bulb. Push the new bulb into the socket, put the socket back into the housing, and twist a quarter turn clockwise to secure the socket into the fix.Seems that you have to remove the coolant bottle(two screws), and also the unscrew the washer fluid bottle, after that you can reach the socket that holds the bulb. There is a wire that holds the bulb in. if you loosen the screw you can tip up the wire and be careful to leave it in place...also the long side of the wire seems to connect to ground wire for the light...

SOURCE: 2000 nissan altima: driver side seatbelt is in

Take the bolt out of the top of the seat belt and release the pressure on it.If this doesnt work the safety module will have to be replaced.

I have a 1998 Nissan Terrano R50 with a seatbelt light flashing .

If you have a heavy enough object sitting in the passenger seat, the sensor may think a person is sitting there without a seatbelt on....or in a case that I ran into a few years back, a small coin had lodged inside my locking side seat belt. The side with the release button. Or lastly, have you vacuumed your car recently? You may have unplugged your seatbelt sensor wires while vacuuming.
Your car is getting up in age too, so check to see if the retracting spring is still pulling the seatbelt back into its holster, check the general condition of your locks on the belts....not sure if there is a fuse link for a seatbelt system in your car...but you could check your owners manual to see if there is, and while in the manual...check for reasons the seatbelt light comes on too. You can get a copy of your owners manual on line from Nissan or a aftermarket source. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be more specific. Your owners manual or an on line search of the trouble code and the specific working generated by the readout will give some information I'm sure....Work safely please. and beware of air bags when messing with seat safety issues. If you deploy an air bag on yourself while messing with the safety controls.....you could be killed or injured....so be careful.

Seatbelts locked after wreck

It is possible that the belt is locked from the crash which activated the reel lock pin. The only way will be to replace the whole unit including the gas container.

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal and after about a minute put it back on. This will cause computer to reset and could bring things back to normal.

Seat belt light flashes after seat belt is on

The new 2013 Bentley Mulsanne Mulliner has the same thing.I know on the Bat Mobile it means the ejector seat is not fully charged.

The only generic answer I can conclude with information you provide is ;

1) The passenger seat of a newer general motors car

2) The seatbelt light does not light up when the seat is not occupied

3) The passenger side Airbag (SRS) has been turned OFF

4) While occupied , the seatbelt light on the insrument cluster lights steady

5) when the seatbelt is active (buckled with a passenger) the light flashes.

6) anybody?

I have a 2005 ford crown victoria P71 ( interceptor). It has cruise but dosent work. I just bought it from the county. It was a active patrol car that was up for replacement (so its in excellent mechanical...

I also have that same vehicle but, I'm sorry to say it does not have cruise. I also have a wiring issue. I replaced the interior (seats, carpet, door panels, and a few dash moldings) with duel power seats, however I through out the old seats before I noted the "wiring colors" for the passenger seat 'seatbelt' and 'airbag' sensor connections. The new seats came out of a 2003 crown vic (not a p71) and had totally different connections under the passenger seat. My '05 p71 did not even have the wires there for a power passenger seat, so I had to replace and wire them in from the harness that I removed from donor car. That actually wasn't TOO bad, and the seats work fine, but I don't know which wires go together for the seatbelt and airbag sensors, as the old wire 'colors' under the seat do not match the 'colors' on the connectors under the new power passenger seat. If you could tell me the colors of the wires to your original seat (passenger), for the seatbelt and airbag plugs you would be a great help in solving my issue with the "airbag" and "seatbelt" light that stays lit on the dash. If I can help with your problem in some way, even though my car does not have cruise, e-mail me and let me know how ([email protected]) .

The seatbelt light in the gauge on the dashboard keeps flashing on and off. Passengers wear seat belts when driving..... I have disconnected the battery, recently to replace a burned out head light bulb....

Dear,

the blinking light only indicates the belt position of the Driver seat only.
if you click the seat belt in the fixer.......you will find the light getting off....

Seat belt alarm wont stop beeping

Check for wire disconnected where you plug your seatbelt into. it will probably go under the carpet a bit, but it is there. If it is broken/disconnected, the alarm will continue to sound. There is one in the passenger side too, but should only sound when a passenger is seated unless you have more than one problem here...

Flashing light on dash - seatbelt indicator

you did'nt state year, make, model. If you are talking about the seat belt light, check your seat belt(the one with the push/release button. check this top to bottom for a broken wire. ckeck under the seat the harness may be damaged as well. If it is the air-bag light bring it to your mechanic. air-bag circuits should be touched without the right knowledge and tools.

Seatbelt light on

There is a tiny switch under the **** area of the seat that tells the car someone is sitting there... and a tiny switch in the seatbelt CLICK mechanism. These only have 2 wires which go down to the floor, alongside the running board and up to the dash. The switch nder your **** is NormallyOPEN and CLOSES (makes contact) when someone weighing 50lb or more sits in the seat (smart huh) It could be bent, broken, come loose from its moorings or have a wire loose... At the same time, the passenger seat also has shcu a switch and it might be STUCK or shorted. Same for the seatbelt CLICK mechanisms on both sides. If you don't like loosening seat bolts, pulling up carpeting and removing the inside panels, etc. what we call 'troubleshooting'. find someone that does - or take it to a dealer.
