Left front turn signal bulb for 2001 Pontiac Montana

Left turn signal operates rapidly when on. Front bulb is INOP. Problem is, how to remove headlamp assembly. There is one 'star' screw that I removed, but assembly does not come out. Is there a hidden screw that cannot be seen that will allow the assembly to disengage? Thanks

I have the same problem. Did replacing the bulb fix it? I've seen posts that say the fix is more trouble than simply replacing the bulb. Thanks.

removed the screws but its not coming off. Is there a hidden clip I can't see or do I have to pry it off somehow. Don't want to break it.

There is only one screw to remove that releases the mounting tab at the upper inner corner of the assembly. That screw has a plastic wingnut molded onto it so you can turn by hand. Once that is removed, the assembly can be pulled straight forward. At the inner bottom corner, a spring clip faces straight rearward. Pull with enough force to to release the clip from its slot. Only two "Fingers" hold the rear of the assembly in the sheet metal holes.

I want to know how to change the bulb in my headlight of my 2005 pontiac montana?

1. Open the hood.

2. Remove the front turn signal/parking lamp
assembly. See Front Turn Signal, Sidemarker and
Parking Lamps on page 5-46.

3. Pull the assembly away from the vehicle.

4. Unscrew the black retainer ring that holds the bulb
assembly in place.

5. Pull the bulb assembly straight up from the
lamp housing.

6. Unhook the electrical connector by lifting up the
blue tabs and pulling the bulb out.

7. Install the new bulb through the black retainer ring
and into the electrical connector.

8. Tighten the black retainer ring in place. Push the
bulb firmly enough so that the blue tabs hook over
the tab on the bulb.

9. Carefully put the bulb assembly back into the lamp
housing. Be careful not to damage the bulb on the
headlamp aiming bar.

Replace front right turn signal bulb

I replaced the front right turn signal on my 2005 Pontiac Montana by reaching up from underneath. I tried removing the battery but the opening from above was too small. I was able to pull the ground effects open enough to get my arm in. When you reach the bulb holder feel for two wings on the bulb socket and give the whole socket a quarter turn to and it will release. The wires are long enough so the entire bulb holder will drop down below the vehicle so you can easily replace the bulb.
Reverse the step to put it back in. You will not be able to see what you are doing so I had someone guide me by watching from above. Took less than 10 minutes once I decided to change the bulb from the bottom. I did not need to jack the vehicle up or use ramps.

Driver front turn signal does not blink. front

This may have more then one bulb in the front or possibly a bad socket try wiggling the new bulb in the socket to see if it will work.Compare all turn signal lights that come on the passenger side to those drivers side. Some vehicles also incorporate sidemarker lights with the turn signals.

Blinker lights are rapid

I assumer you're getting a a "check left turn signal" error message too? The rapid flash is the car's way of letting you know you've got a bulb out. The front bulbs can be tricky since they're double filament. If one filament is out the light may look dim. Set the hazards on and inspect. Last time this happened to me on my 2001 S60, the bulb was fine and the socket was flaky. You may need to clean the contacts and check the resistance from the plug to the socket. Mine is working now - for the time being. I hope it's not your front bulb because you have to remove the air filter to get to it. Good luck!
