I have a 93 Acura Legend and the idle goes up & down while in park. Once I am driving, the car acts like it is loosing power and shifts slow. I have checked the vaccum lines, pvc valve, and cleaned the idle air control valve. I am stuck & need help. Any other suggestions....

when bleeding the system to get the air out, you may want to turn of the heater to help get all the air out of the system.

This could happen if your fan is indeed weak.  To test disconnect the thermostat of the radiator by removing the terminals near the radiator hose towards the engine.  You should see the fan run at its highest speed, then you can check if your fan has weakened.

Your shift lock is wired to the brake light fuse when you start your car and put you foot on the brake you should hear a acturator clicking. It is connected to the shifter. check your fuse which is located driver side fender under the hood if bad replace fuse if acturator is bad Call Honda parts you can replace this your self might want a manuel for that. Good Luck

My 93 acura legend wont start. Ticking sound??

That sounds like a dead battery. The ticking sound is the relay (a type of switch) which enables power to the starter motor when you turn the key. If the battery is weak, the relay will click, but there is not enough power to turn the starter motor.

The butterfly valve inside your throttle body may be loose causing your idle problem. have it inspected to see if it is.

Engine runs really hot, and engine light comes on while in D4

I had the same problems with my Acura Legend. On the problem with the running hot and the idling up and down, your cooling system is low. Fill your cooling system start it up and look for leaks, steam, or etc. repair and refill and your problem should be cured if the cooling system is full. At this time i'm working on the other problem. Good Luck

My 93 acura legend starts but it cannot move when shift to drive. what do you think the problem is?

Bro I think you clutch lining is already worn off or there might be something wrong with your hydraulic shifter to allow your gears to be engaged, my suggestion is, have it be diagnosed or repaired by a mechanic. I hope i was able to help !!!!

Slow going from idle position

first scan the PCM for trouble codes using a hand held scanner, Then repair codes by replacing failed sensor as needed. If no codes are present then try replacing the idle air control motor.
