You problems is possibly low fuel pressure due to a plugged fuel filter or a pump in the tank not creating high pressure for cold starts.

I HAVE A 98 GMC YUKON THAT HAS A COLD START PROBLEM. fIRST START OF THE DAY AFTER THAT RUNS FINE. AND SUGGESTIONS?

sounds to me like your starter isn't shimmed correctly common problem for the 5.0l and 5.7l. your starter isn't meshing with your fly wheel correctly and causing unnecessary strain cause the problems you stated.

I have a 1999 gmc Yukon it is getting fuel and spark i even sprayed starter fluid in the intake but it still wont start it turns over good but wont start

ok make sure you have good fuel pressure
you must have good spark must fire a spark tester
if all that is good then check compression
and don't use STARTER FLUID on a GAS ENGINE it can blow a hole through the piston
hope this helps

99 Suburban wont start

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 1999 GMC YUKON WITH THE 5.7 ENGINE HAVING TO JUMP START ALL THE TIME TO GET IT RUNNING, THE PROBLEM WITH MINE WAS THE FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, EVEN WHEN I REMOVED THE PUMP AND TURNED THE KEY FUEL PUMPED OUT BUT WAS NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE TO GET AND KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING.I ALSO TRIED STARTER FLUID, THE ENGINE WOULD RUN UNTIL THE FLUID BURNED OFF.SO THE SOLUTION FOR MY TRUCK WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND NOW ITS STARTING LIKE A CHAMP

97 yukon 4wd. Jerks and makes noise like its

Hi amberdawn_84

My 97 yukon did the same thing (I believe). The valve body in the transmisson wears out (design problem) and causes the transmission to shift really hard. My repair was about $500 (nondealer).
LOVE MY YUKON!

Ignition problems

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull off the vac line to the regulator, if you see liquid fuel in the vac line, replace the regulator.
