I have a 91 olds supreme 3.1 v6 it shut off and won't start back .... It starts but won't turn over.... And when turn the key back off it's blows the dis fuse wich mean direct ignition system ..... And put gas in and still doesn't turn over has two new coil pack but one still hasn't been changed

The headlights are powered by the battery through the ignition switch via a fuse. Check the relay and the fuse; the problem will be in one of those two.

Sounds like you have water in some of your distributuin boxes. Remove the covers and blow them out with compressed air.

Check the transmission oil it may be the cause if not you will need to repair the gearbox with a specialized mechanic

your starter sounds like its sticking. the carbon brushes in older models wear down and need to be replaced. or, starter needs replacing/reconditioning. first try to tap lightly on the starter with a hammer then try to turn the key(bring hammer with you!!)
failing that you may need to get it checked. you could try a hill start to see if it is just the starter.

Hello, Just by my experience with my 91 dodge grand caravan, I would start checking 3 things. First, did you replace spark plug wires to the correct location(Plugs 1, 3 and 5 on the back, Plugs 2, 4 and 6 on the front,That's all starting from the Passenger's side.) 2nd, do your dash lights and electronics turn on when it turns over? If not, try jumping it and 3rd if engine finally runs after that and then shuts off, then your alternator will be next to check however if engine dosen't start running from trying to jump it then the problem is more than likely your alternator. Though make sure you have plugged in all plugins that you might of unplugged like the one that plugs into your DIS coil pack and all vacuum hoses are connecting. Hope this helps and good luck!

If this is the 4 cam engine I rememeber it being 5.5 quarts.After draining the oil,refill with 5.5 quarts,start it up for a minute,shut it off,wait a minute,and check it on the dipstick.If it still needs a little,this additional amount plus 5.5 is the total.(Don't worry,a little over or under won't blow it up).

You may have loaded a fuel line or connector up with contaminants. What else is happening during the second or 3rd day of running? Is it running low on fuel? Try to make a list of your gauge set! It only makes sense.

I had some issues when I changed my olds 307 to a slightly modified olds 350 rocket, it would start fine cold, but hard cranking or slow, painful cranking when hot. Alot of it was the carbureator was allowing too much or too little fuel into the engine. I rebuilt the carb twice. The first time I didn't have a full understanding of float level drop and measuring as far as bending the brass tangs. The second rebuild I finally was able to remove a large part of the hot starting issue, along with retarding the timing as well. But it still isn't gone.

May just be bad fuel If it has sat for that long. your fuel can be restored with an additive you can get from any auto parts store.I would try that first to rule that out.

It could be a broken wire going to the starter the little brown wire or it is loose.
