That hard pedal is a sign of a vacuum leak on the brake booster.Check the vacuum hose on the booster for holes and with the engine running have someone push the brake pedal while someone else watches the hose to see if it is collapsing when the brake is applied. If it does that will be your problem.Replace the 3/8 vacuum booster hose.It will have to be the thick hose just for a vacuum booster or it will do the same thing if that is what is wrong.

SOURCE: abs problems i have a 98 k1500 the front right

Inspect the ABS sensor on the front wheels, make sure that there is no damage to the wire leads and that the ABS sensor is not damaged or touching the speed ring on the front wheel hub. You may be luck and the ABS sensor is dirty, it can be cleaned with a good spray of brake parts cleaner and make sure the ABS is not loose from the mounting bracket on the hub. Good luck and keep me posted.

How to diagnose a bad brake boosterOn my 95 GMC Suburban K 1500 4 x 4 5.7 v8

Hi, your basic symptoms will be. Your brake pedal. Will be very hard to push. When the pedal is engaged there will be a large vacuum leak, usually causing the engine to be very ruff or stall. If its bad enuff, youll hear the the air leak when pedal is depressed, hope that helps.

Brakes 95 chevy k1500

Brakes are hydraulic. pedal going right to the floor indicates either brake fluid is too low and air got in the system, or your master cylinder is defective. if air is in system due to low fluid, you will need to bleed the brake lines.

1995 Chevrolet k1500 4wd front disk brakes bind after complete stop. Accelerate to go and they release after short distance.

I've seen this problem in other types of vehicles before, mostly Chrysler. Sometimes the composite-rubber brake hoses to the calipers fall apart on the inside, holding brake fluid pressure to those calipers for a time. Maybe remove a brake hose to see. Good luck.

My brakes feel like i can put on the brakes and takes alot of pressure to stop car what can i do to increase brake pressure and not have to push brake pedal so far

if you have power brakes you could have a vacume leak to the brake booster...or you might need a brake adjustment if your car had rear drum brakes..could also have wornout front brake pads

94 K1500, brakes surging ,

If you feel a pulsing in the brake pedal when you apply the brakes, your brake rotors are warped. Replace them or have them cut true again.
