Loringh, I can get it to whine but it won't turn over. The starter is trying to get it to turn but I don't think it is gettin g any gas. I disconnected the fuel line in the engine campartment before the fuel injectors. I put the hose in a bottle and tried to start the car but no gas was going thru the line. So, I don't know if it is the fuse for the fuel pump , the fuel filter, or the fuel pump. Thanks! NateLoringh, I can get it to whine but it won't turn over. Nakemo; When you say "car won't turn over" do you mean that when you turn the key nothing happens. I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but there is a reason for asking this. This is the reason. If the car won't turn over then I would not expect any fuel to flow.
Let's assume that your answer to me is "yes, nothing happens when I turn the key" For the time being, we can disregard no fuel flow. There are only a few things that can cause the engine not to turn over, They are: Battery problem Starter motor problem Shift interlock problem Strange as it may seem this happen to me today. I stopped at a store toget coffee and when I came out of the store my F-150 would not start. It turned out that the interelock switch that forces you to start in park or neutral was not closing and when I jiggled the shifter a few times it started right up and has started all day correctly.
get back with me and we can probably figure this out

Nate, I'm not sure what you mean when you say,"I can get it to whine but not turn over. The starter is trying to get it to turn, but I don't think it is getting any gas".
Separate and aprt from not getting any gas is the fact( if I understande you correctly) that the motor is not being cranked by the starter motor. You say "it whines". You are referring to the starter motor, right? the starter motor should not "whine". If this is what's happening by guess is the Bendix spring in the starter motor is broken. The bendix spring is a heavy spring that is mounter on s worm gear in the starter motor. When you go to start the motor by turning the key the starter motor turn and the spring travels down this worm gear and engages tthe geared flywheel and cranks the engine. As soon as the engine starts the flywheel is now turning the bendix spring faster that the starter motor and the spring kicks back to its original position. If the spring is broken it never engages the flywheel and the engine wont crank. The fact that you say the starter "whines" is what I would expect you to hear if the starter is at fault.
As far as no fuel flow there are 2 ifs: if you have an electric fuel pump, then there is a problem in the fuel flow. If you do not have a electric pump then the fuel pump runs off of the engines motion and since the engine is not cranking, the pump is not pumping and the fuel is not flowing.
Anything else you can add before we conclude that the starter has to come off?

Turn the key forward and listen to see if you hear the gas pump run.or have some one put there ear on the gas tank door.also air out the fuel line there may be air in the fuel line.
LOOK FOR A SMALL FLAT ROD THAT COMES THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE TRUNK LOCK YOU SOULD BE ABLE TO TURN THAT WITH A PLIERS. YOU'LL NEED TO TURN IT SO IT IS STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND IT SHOULD LATCH
If you have a key with a computer chip inside, you may need to try another key. The ignition lock "reads" the resistance in your key to let the ignition work. If you only have one key you may need to get a new one.
I would start with the MAP sensor. You can also pull codes out of it. there should be a 10 or 12 pin plug under your dash in the canter of the car. here is a link that may help. - North Central Regional Library Good luck
Electric fuel pumps are known for burning out if you run them out of gas, pull the fuel line at the trottle-body, have someone turn the key on and see if you get fuel-flow, you may also check the fuel pump fuse and relay to make sure they are good.
I have the same problem on a 1988 lesaber Climate control and was told to change the climate control as the was the problem. A have the climate control but have a problem to take of the cover that covers the control and the radio. If any one can tell me how to remove it I will put in the new control and see if that will stope the fann. Thanks
