I have a bad fuse 60 maxi I/P fuse panel I need to know what components are powered by this fuse in a 1998 ford explorer 4.0l

Are you having 4WD problems? Most likely not a fuse but ask more questions if you need to.

Number 11 is a 20amp Maxi fuse
number 4 is a 10amp regular size
number 8 is a 10amp
number 33 is a 15amp

Hi there:
CHeck in Passenger Fuse Panel (early drive side dashboard / will need open drive door) and look position 12, 7.5A for Power Window Relay, Washer Pump Relay.

Also, could be a problem with the power windows switch, harnesses, wires or ground connections.

Power window usually don't have a fuse but an automatically resetting breaker. If all four windows stopped working at the same time check the body control module that is what manages the power windows. Good luck.

Try everything to see what does not work,with the fuse out

Try looking at the fuse under the hood make sure your getting 12 volts at fuse.If fuse is good but no power try checking the fuel pump relay. you can switch the relay with another system that you know works. Lastly Check you Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD). If there has been an accident this relay will kill your fuel pump power. good luck.

The mega or maxi fuse does normally read 2-3 ohms, sounds like the altenator's voltage regulator is gone. I own a 98 v6 2.5 Duratech Contour and just replaced my altenator. Bring a pillow and blanket and put a $50 in the swear jar before you start. You are going to be under there for a bit. For the time it takes to re/re its better just to buy a new one with 2 year warranty. Its not that bad though if you are handy with tools, and if you are a double jointed Contour(tionist)..LOL.. Have one of the parts dealers do a diagnostic while its still in the car. ( My maxi fuse read 2.4 ohms on my car.) This Maxi fuse is rated at 750 amps. Its only to protect the altenator from surges(boosts)You can buy a repair kit for under 100.00 but like I said for the re/re time go new. If you need to know how to remove it check the answers in the fixya pages. There are a few hints I posted for another person.

On your 1997 Ford Explorer, in the power distribution box in the
engine compartment, in location # 4 there is a 30 amp maxi-fuse for
the power windows, power moonroof, and power seat.
DISCONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE - PD BOX IS 'LIVE"
also in the fuse panel on the end of the dash, visible with driver's
door open there is a 7.5 amp fuse in location # 12 for the power
window relay, washer pump relay.
