Question about 2007 Lexus IS 250
Cannot find anything in the manual on how to troubleshoot the maintenance warning light or how to turn if off. Any suggestions?
This light correct? to troubleshoot this light, the car can be scanned with any OBD2 scanner/code reader. after it has been scanned, the scanner will have an option to erase all codes. once they have been erased the light will go off.
the only other way to make the light go off is to disconnect the battery for 15-30min. this will reset the engine ECU, causing the light to go off but also will erase any codes that may be stored in the EC
U. if the ecu resets and car is started and detects the same problem the light will come back on.
Check to make sure that the fuel tank cap is on tight.
When the fuel tank cap is loose:
The electronic engine control system warning light comes on as a temporary malfunction.

An easy fix... but its not in the owners manule... turn the ingition on engine of. hold the trip button down and turn the ingition back on... this will do a count down on your clocks. but keep your finger on the trip button on till the count down is complete.
