2004 Dodge Intrepid picks up speed very slowly...sometimes

Sometimes when I drive my car and want to pick up speed for getting onto the highway or changing lanes, my car will accelerate very slowly. I can be pressing the pedal all the way to the floor and it will just very very slowly pick up speed, I have noticed it is the worst when going from first to second gear, and sometime when I do pick up speed it jerks when it first begins accelerate normally. I have already checked the transmission fluid and it looks like there is enough, could there be too much in there?

Was driving on the highway in 2002 intrepid and tranny just stopped working goes in drive sometimes but no reverse at all

Sound like the planetery gear sprocket broke. Common problem on some of these Dodge Transmissions. Transmission will have to be removed and rebuild or replaced.

Why is my 1995 dodge intrepid not picking up speed when climbing a hill; yet when I get to the top to descend it picks up speed?

there is a lot to be said and we will have to go back and forth step one is to do the basics tune up - fuel filter - injectors cleaned if you have already done this go to Auto Zone or a parts store and have them pull any codes and write me back and we will go from there. this is a driveability issue and we must do systematically in steps thank you for using FixYa, Lee Davidian

2004 wrangler right hand drive code #po122 tps changed it no difference.rough idle sometimes, but around 55 to 60 feels like its gasping for air or fuel something then dies 2 or 3 seconds picks right up...

Either fuel pump delivery/pressure is incorrect,(filter/regulator is on top of tank above pump on outside) crank sensor is beginning to fail, or map sensor is malfunctioning. These are ideas...you need to test. Parts are expensive and there is no replacement for good testing. (otherwise shops would not need thousands of $ worth of diagnostics equipment!)

2004 overheating at highway speeds

Check rad cap & check your rad hoses for one that may feel soft & collapsing & restricting flow under higher speeds. Sometimes you can see it **** in when you rev engine in park. Especially lower hose.
