SOURCE: How to replace high low dimmer switch for head lights on 2004

This will involve removal of your steering wheel and a couple of special tools, a steering wheel puller and a steering wheel lock ring compressor. If you have these are can rig your on, remove ground and wait ten minutes so the airbag system capacitor has time to discharge. Remove drivers air bag and detach wiring, remove steering wheel nut and notice align marks on wheel and steering wheel shaft and remember them. Remove the steering lockring retainer after compressing spring. from there you should remove Blinker stick, by turning shaft to line up to slot on hole and pull out, Remove clock spring and then switch, reverse to install. Hope this helps you some you can get complete instructions at www.alldatadiy.com, Hope this helps you and Merry Christmas!

SOURCE: 1999 buick century head lights

Iam an ASE Certified mechanic and i had the same problem with my 99 century and i wasnt able to drive at night. After hours of testing wires we came to the problem. Its the turn signal switch assembly which is tied into the hazard switch on top of the steering column. Its all one piece with a 3 foot long wiring harness attached to it running down the bottom of the steering column and going underneath the dash. The least expensive place i found the part and had it in stock was my local Auto Zone and still the part was $200.00.

SOURCE: Low beams stopped working

There are two fuses...one 15amp that is for the daylight running resistor, the second one is a 20amp which is for the headlights...both of them are IP(Inside Panel), not UP(Underhood Panel) which means both are inside the vehicle. The dimmer switch receives power from the 20amp which by switching it causes the power to go to the high or low beam. That being the case, it would appear that your dimmer switch which is under the dash, located on left lower side of steering column, would be the likely suspect.

SOURCE: no power at fuse block for low beam head light

hello, the left and right headlight fuses are powered by the same circuit. the circuit is bus bar inside the fuse block. if you are 100 percent sure the fuse is dead, then the only possiblitie is a bad fuse block

When you switch on the high beam the lights go out.

Hi Dk,
I'd suggest you check the fuses and if they are fine check the bulbs. I think you'll find the problem in one of those two areas.
