Where is the trailer fuse located on a 2012 jeep grand cheroke

Somehow the U-Haul center that hooked up the trailer lights messed up and connected the plug incorrectly. If you have the paperwork to the plug you had installed, look under the rear or behind the tail lights and double check the connections and wiring. U-Haul should have used the kit that installs between the harness for the rear lights so this kind of thing doesn't happen. If I were you, I would take your car back to them and tell them to get it right. You paid them to have it installed correctly and evidently it wasn't. I see this kind of thing occassionally at my shop and U-Haul is just a block away. The U-Haul personnel aren't really trained to installed trailer plugs, most of the guys that work there used to wire up stereo equipment somewhere which brings up the question, why aren't they still wiring up stereo equipment???

If you have the owner's manual look up fuses in the index, good illustration. If you don't, I do. It shows a relay and a 15 amp fuse. Look at the passenger kick panel, pull the cover, and it is #2 fuse (second from the top on the left) The see the relay you may have to pull the panel (two screws and a clip) the relay is the third cavity down, third row from the firewal side.

More than likely you have a bad ground. Under the rear of the vehicle, behind the rear bumper there will be a few wires running to a bolt in the frame (left side i think) Check that no wires are loose or boken. Also if you have a trailer wiring harness, check to see if it has not been damaged. Let me know if this helps :)

The switch is on the transmission..It is usually a dealer item but you can get one from Rockauto.com for about 1/4 of what the dealers charge.
