Hi if your camshaft had broke the car wouldn,t start and if the camshaft had broke the camshafts had a fault in it and it makes no sense what so ever cause if all your valves want changing the car wouldn,t start and if it did it would run very badly you are being took for a ride on this discription if you had a knocking noise from the top end of the engine the camshaft and rockers are proberly at fault may run like this for a long time or not but if i were you i would take it to another garage for a second opinion don,t mention about what bmw said something is not right here if this car is new then what mileage has it done and complain to bmw to fix it as this should not happen [free] these cams should last 100000 miles ifoil changes are done when they are suppose to good luck yates210456

Water coming out of boot latch BMW X5 e70 2012 when boot is opened

This a hatchback I am assuming. And I also assume that BMW did the same thing as with my MINI COOPER. The pump for the wiper washer is mounted in the hatchback door!!! Right where the wiper motor is. Well I had a similar issue. The motor or hose fitting (can't remember) cracked or just broke, hence the leaking. If you are a decent mechanic. you have two options.
1) Go to the parts yard and get on out of a wrecked BMW.
2) Order the part new and install it.
Failing that you are off to the mechanic..................
Hope this helped,
Jason

Whinning noise when engine is off

Whinning Causes
The whining noise you hear coming from the power steering pump is one of three things. The first is more of a loud "hush" than a whine; this is the sound of fluid rushing through the bypass valve when you turn the wheel all the way to one side or the other. Sometimes the bypass valve malfunctions or doesn't open all the way, causing pressure to back up in the pump and cause your engine rpm to drop. The second and third causes result from cavitation -- vacuum pockets created behind the rotor's vane blades as a result of extremely high pump action -- or air in the lines.

Code p0014 exhaust and code p0015 exhaust

The code P0014 is for Camshaft Positon Sensor Actuator Bank 1. The possible causes are incorrect camshaft timing, wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve solenoid system; continuous oil flows to VCT piston chamber or failed timing valve control solenoid(stuck open).
The code P0015 is for Camshaft Position -Timing Over-******** (Bank 1). Your problem will probably be that the timing will be slightly out, due to wear (stretch) of the timing chain; this will all be linked to the overall cold start issue and the timing position. Get that timing checked, or push for the full fix for the cold start timing issue.

My mini cooper surpintene belt broke and now i have rattle will this stop after i fix the belt

This depends if the tensioner was the problem, and thats why the belt broke in the first place it may need replaced. And if your talking about your engine is rattling this may not stop because the engine was over heated and this is the main cause of engine failure and blown heads.

Front windscreen wipers have stopped working

Firstly check the fuses, if they are ok and you can here noise it will most likely be the linkage has popped apart, if no noise when on then check the switch.

*If you had cold weather when this happened, it is common for the motor to strain and blow the fuse*

A constant whizzing

that whining noise is definately your power steering pump. the earlier models eg 2001-2003 just have noisy ones. so they say, if that noise become really excessive; its an early warning that its gonna fail. the newer pumps are much quiter, but i was quoted approx 1200+ CND for a new pump. I have a 2003 cooper, and the whining noise is loud. only once has the steering been really stiff, but i resolve that problem by restarting the vehicle. watch out tho, the power sttering could fail on you while your driving around a corner, and if you dont have both hands on the wheel, you'll go strait.

MINI COOPER AIRBAG R50 AND R56

If you have a Mini that was buit pre 2006 i.e. a first gen Mini then your new steering wheel will not fit, you need to buy a 1st gen Mini 3 spoke steering wheel.

Akso, for issues regarding the airbag light DO NOT pay the dealer silly amounts of money to solve the problem. Please visit the following thread http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-faults-fixes/130947-airbag-warning-light-petition-bmw-uk.html
