Windows and sun roof opening by themselves- mb E320 sw 2000
For the first time i woke up this morning to find all the window and sunroof open. the all opened automatically during the night, after i drove it home from anchorage. i did nothing out of the ordinary except i had my summer tires changed to my winter tires.
so i closed them all this morning and in 15 minutes, without the car running they opened themselves up again., and again,,,,and again. and always, without the car running.
i live in alaska where this could become a real problem with artic blizzards and temperatures.
any advise? i have a 2000 year model (that year was not available in the pull down menu.)

From the Acura website: "To cool the car on a hot day, you can lower all the windows and open the sunroof by pressing the unlock button on the remote twice and holding it as you approach the vehicle."
This could happen if you have the remote in your pocket.
Here's a description the sun roof
Power Sunroof System Components
The power sunroof system consists of the following components:
• Sunroof module
• Sunroof switch
• Sunroof motor, with 2 hall effect sensors and limit switch
• Sunroof window
• Sunroof sunshade panel
• Power supply for the sunroof module: RAP 25 A
• Ground G402
Override
The override function is used when needing to force a closing of the sunroof window. To override the system:
Turn ignition to ON.
Rotate the sunroof switch to the close position.
Press upward.
The sunroof switch data 6 circuit, or override circuit, will become grounded at the sunroof module. As long as the sunroof module sees this input, it will continue to slide the sunroof window to close, regardless of the other sunroof switch data circuits inputs.
remove the trim cover over the drive motor and test the motor connector for power when u try to operate the sun roof, more than likely the sun roof motor is defective.
If you open the sunroof, look towards the rear corners and you will see
2 openings that are the drains. If the drain openings are clogged, you
will get water into the car from the sunroof.
The sun roof has nylon gears that pulls the roof back and forward when activated. There is one on both sides of the sunroof track in the rear corners of the roof track housing. Unfortunately they are not replaceable by themselves and must be purchased as a unit for the whole roof track system. The cost of the replacement and labor to have it installed (if you can find someone to do it) is up to $1500 so isn't very practical to replace based on the value of the car itself. Better off to just work the broken piece out and manually put roof back in place in shut position and not use anymore, at least that was my experience with the one my daughter owns.
