Starting noise I own a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T with about 122,000 Miles. the problem i am having is that when ever i start my engine cold, my engine makes a very loud, high pitched grinding sound. Its hard to explain. After a few (2-4) minutes it will rev back down and be just fine. just recently, My service light came on and now my check engine light is on. The Loud grinding noise is getting louder and grinding more. Please help. i don't want my engine to blow...

The fuel pump takes a couple seconds to get up enough pressure. If it takes longer than that, maybe your filter is clogged. They get full of rust. Sometimes the car stumbles on heavy load, or won't even run above idle, but yours could be a mild case. Pulling the pump out can be a big job, so try the filter first.

Could be sepentine or timing belt.
More than likely a tensioner for serp belt or timing belt. It could also be the pulley for the alternator - a pretty common problem for VW's.

check pawer steering pump belt mybe it is worn out or loose, also check the alteranator belt.
