On a couple of occations, after parking and turning off my car with windows and top window open, when I go to turn on the car again, my battery is dead and I have to get a jump. I don't have anything running and the car was turned off> any ideas?
I have the same problem. Usually I notice that somehow my trunk is open. Even if it is slightly open the light in there is on and the battery drains. I have also had it happen when there hasn't been anything on or open. I have to take it to the dealer at some point but for now I am replacing the battery because it is competely drained and I can't even get a jump to charge it. :(

Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

I'd like to disable this also. Mine has been on for a few months now for no apparent reason. I hope there is a way to disable this light permanently.

My 09 elantra had the same problem the terminal was loose and it had to jumped each time to start up. Tighten all the terminal as well as the clamps and the problem should stop.
SOURCE: Locked my keys in the trunk of a 2009 hyundai elantra
if the car has a fold down back seat fold it down and try to reach in the trunk there should be a safety pull to open it or if you can reach the keys you are done ! if it does not have a fold down seat the fastest and safest way is call a locksmith or AAA if you have the service you dont want to start using a coat hanger or a slimjim on that car you could break the plastic clips that hold the linkage rods in place in the door and do some damage to the car . hope this helps
