2005 Dodge Caravan Fuel dripping from the top of the Gas Tank

I have been noticing a gasoline smell in our garage but never saw anything. Now I just noticed a drip to the rear of the Minivan coming from the top of the gas tank. It's the top of the gas tank dripping out of the right side about the middle. Any thoughts on what could be going on?

Sounds like you may need to inspect and replace your fuel line from front to rear. no other reason for your problem.

SOURCE: My 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan fuel gauge does not

the level sending unit in the tank is attached to the fuel pump module it is a varible resistor it moves as fuel level changes this sending unit can be replaced but if your going to the trouble of replacing it you just as well replace the fuel pump it comes together.

Honda Civic 2005 - smells like gas inside

Does it only do this when you have a full or near full tank? The O-ring on the fuel pump can crack over time which will do this when the tank is full or nearly full. You have a bad gasket or O-ring somewhere for sure.

Why does my car smell like gasoline then and also having it smell like gasoline too?

The gasoline tank is leaking and needs to be replaced. Or the fuel lines need to be replaced. . If you can smell gas or spot a drip or a leak underneath your car check to see if you can to see if there is any gasoline that is leaking or dripping down on the ground That is a sign that your gasoline leak is somewhere higher up in the engine like a leaking fuel injector or bad engine seals and the fuel injector and the engine seals need to be replaced. You should take your car to a mechanic to have it be looked at and see what the problem is and if anything needs to be replaced.

Dodge caravan 2005 has gas smell when stopped

Where is the smell coming from? Under hood? Rear/front of vehicle? It could be a leaky fuel injector... bad gas cap.... leaky fuel line... leaky tank/tank seal... disconnected evap line..... leaky pressure regulator to name a few. Have a pro inspect the fuel system to avoid a dangerous situation

Why does my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan smell like gasoline intermittantly?

I had this problem with my minivan as well. The gas line had become old and started to corrode. It only smelled like gas when we started the engine, something to do with the pressure in the lines I believe. Was a fairly cheap fix (under $100), just a piece of plastic hose. Most of the expense was the labour.Have a mechanic check it out.

I have a fuel smell while driving my 2005 dodge caravan, just fumes no sign of a gas leak!!!

Under the hood look very closely at the fuel rail and injectors for any signs of seepage. Under the car look very closely at the seal where the fuel pump is mounted to the fuel tank.

Gas Smell

check under hood while it is running to see if there is gasoline dripping anywhere. You need to find it before it catches on fire. Use a bright flashlight and look at the fuel injectors and loser intake manifold as injector o-ring could be leaking. DO NOT use a lighter. Sorry, but I had to stress this. Gasoline does not burn. The fumes burn.
