Just bought a Mitsubishi diamante 93 the fuel pump needed to to replaced in the process both of the fuel lines that are located on the top of the hanger o r sender cracked broke can I repair it

Hi I did exactly the same with my 2001 commodore fuel pump, The fuel lines click onto the fuel pump, I tried pulling fuel lines off and broke both plastic ends off fuel pump and were stuck inside the fuel lines. You can get them out with a pair of long nose pliers and a very skinny flat end screwdriver..... Good luck...
Oh by the way if you broke the new fuel pump you'll need another....

Where is the fuel sensor on a 1997 jeep grand cherokee

Have you checked the fuel filter? I would pull the fuel line apart before the filter to see if the pump is putting gas into the line. With key on, the pump should run for 2 seconds to pressurize the lines and fuel rail. And when the engine is cranking over, the pump should be running constant and putting gas into the line. If gas shoots out, possibly the filter is clogged or the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is defective. If no gas comes out, possibly the pump filter sock is clogged or the pump is defective.
Very unusual for the pump to run and have NO fuel pressure.

Rough idle and bucks while driving

1 Open the hood. Locate the fuel pump, mounted to the driver's side of the engine block, approximately midway between the front and rear of the motor.2 Loosen the fuel-line retention nuts on the pump with a tubing wrench turned in a counterclockwise direction. Carefully pull the fuel-inlet line and the outlet line from the fuel pump, being careful not to bend the metal lines. Have a rag handy for any fuel spills when removing the lines.3 Loosen and remove the two fuel-pump retaining bolts with a socket and ratchet. Place the bolts aside for installation of the replacement fuel pump.
4
Pull the pump straight out of the engine block and remove it from the engine bay. Scrape any gasket reside from the mounting surface of the engine block with a gasket scraper.
5
Place a new gasket over the mounting surface of the replacement fuel pump and hold it to the mounting surface on the engine block, lining up the mounting holes. Thread the original retaining bolts through the pump and into the engine block and tighten them.
6
Reconnect the fuel lines to the pump and tighten the fittings with a tubing wrench. Close the hood.

Fuil pump is working but no gas prssure

You need to check the sock on the fuel pump and the lines. I have had situations where the fuel pump sounds like it is working but it is actually not pulling any fuel in and this is usually a bad seal or an air leak on one of the lines. Testing of this is a little more in depth and of moderate difficulty. Usually to verify I pull the fuel pump and apply direct power to the pump from a stand by battery I have while I have the pump submerged in a bucket of fuel. If it sucks up fuel and pumps it out then the pump is good, if it doesn't I either rebuild or replace the pump. Your problem is going to be on the pump itself or line coming out of the pump with a small air leak.

How to change fuel pump?

safely raise and support the back of the vehicle. The fuel pump will be on the passenger side of the fuel tank.

remove the fuel lines from the pump. Be careful as any residual pressure in the lines will spray out and get you. Wrap a rag around the connector before you remove it to reduce the spray.

Unbolt the passenger side fuel tank strap. You will need to do this to remove the wiring harness to the pump.

Remove the 6 bolts holding the pump to the fuel tank. An 8mm socket should work. If the tank is full gas will start coming out at this point. Have a drain pan ready to catch it.

Pull the pump out of the tank. This can be a bit of a rubix cube but the pump will come out without having to pull or drop the tank.

Please be careful! anytime there is fuel vapor or spilt fuel there is the chance for fire.

Use new clips in the fuel line fittings. There should be one black clip and one white clip. They only go into the fitting with the tab facing the line. If you put them in backwards the lines will pull off.

Sometimes they use a quick connect fitting that a release tool needs to be used to get the fittings off of the fuel pump. They can be purchased at any good auto parts store. There are two sizes and most parts stores will carry the tool that has both sizes in one tool.

Make sure you replace the fuel filter when replacing the pump.
