you don't adjust hyd valves, use t- to spec- 90ich. are you makeing fun, Ha lol on me, however, do you have a solution to this problem.

Clarifying Question, My apologies, I have what seems to be a valve or rocker knock at start up and seems to increase at acceleration. As previous stated, I have done some diagnostic trouble shooting, and am still clueless as to what is causing this problem. If you can please help me.

If im correct i beleive those engines have hydraulic lifters in them. Thats probably whats making the noise. it's useless to replace them. It's not gonna affect your engines performance. just let it knock

How to remove intake manifold for 1997 pontiac grand prix

You have to remove anything that is connected and in the way of the intake. Remove the fuel rail, the EGR valve and supply pipe from the manifold, the map sensor, the vacuum for the fuel pressure regulator, the alternator and support bracket, the water pipes for the throttle body, and the bolts that hold it down.

I have a 96 pontiac grand am the push rods got mixed up when i replace the intake gasket no i bought new rods I dont know the order that they go in

stand all rods up on a table top, there should be 6 short and 6 long, the short rods go to the intake valves and the long rods go to the exhaust valves.not sure which is the intake and exhaust then with the intake off look into the intake holes if you can see the valve in there then that is the intake valve.

I want to locate the carburetor on my 1997 grand prix

um Im not sure you are going to have a carburator as i would suspect a the very least, Throttle body injection (TBI) or prob. port fuel injection (PFI). this will have a injector at each intake port near cyl .head in intake manifold and a throttle body(butterfly) where air comes in plentum.

HAVE A 99 GRAND PRIX WITH CODE P0171 SYSTEM LEAN-BANK 1. I REPLACED THE OXYGEN SENSOR ON THE REAR MANIFOLD THAT IS CHANGEABLE FROM TOPSIDE. LIGHT/CODE IS STILL COMING ON AND SHUTTING OFF BY ITSELF. CAR HAS...

po171 is a lean code, and could be likely caused by a plugged fuel filter, or a weak fuel pump, I would recommend changing the fuel filter first since its cheaper.. The filter is located under the rear of the vehicle by the fuel tank, if this doesn't help run, or have run a fuel pressure check to determine if that is the cause. Also look carefully under the hood for any hoses or lines disconnected causing a vacuum leak, this can also cause a lean code

1999 Pontiac Grand Am with "lower intake leak"...What does this mean specifically? Would this mean the intake for the radiator, gasket, or valve?

Usually intake has to do with the induction system, as in intake manifold , The intake manifold can have several types of leaks, the intake can have a vacuum leak, oil leak, coolant leak or a combination of any of the before mentioned....hope this helps,

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lerado

When you do a cylinder leak down test you need to find out where the air is leaking from. as air is going in listen at the tail pipe, the intake the and the oil cap. out the the tail pipe you have a bent exhaust valve, out the intake you bent the intake valves, out the oil cap you need new rings. You need to have that cylinder on top dead center of compression stroke. Hope this helps you
