I suddenly have a low idle in my 2005 tacoma at stop signs. The alternator was JUST replaced today and this happend when driving the truck home. It has been at the repair place for a month for other issues (body work) and I'm wondering if it could be the fact that it has sat so long with a half tank of gas and not ran. Would a fuel injector cleaner help at all?

Guys replacing the alternator may have knocked a vacuum line loose. Look around the alternator and intake manifold for a loose vacuum line.

SOURCE: 1999 toyota tacoma Sr5 won't start

Check for fuel pressure when starting. Fuel pumps have a check valve in them that keep fuel in the rail at the injectors. If the check valve fails, the pump has to pump fuel all of the way up to the engine. Same thing with hot no-restarts. Fuel pump.

Still need the codes.
Injectors can go "bad" in a couple of different ways; all they are is an electromagneticaly controlled nozzle. When the ECU "fires" the injector, it pulses a ground circuit for 4-8 milliseconds, the electromagnet powers up, the valve at the bottom of the injector opens, and the fuel shoots out, under pressure. The wire can be bad/chafed/corodded/ The electromagnet may be weak. The nozzle may be stuck. Lots of things. But, to put in an injector for a number 4 cylinder misfire (p-0304 code) would be one of the last things that I would do.

SOURCE: 2005 toyota corolla light comes on then goes off for a few days e

i had the same codes and the same "bucking" on my 05 Corrolla. I had my mechanic replace the solenoid (not cheap) and the light stayed on & the codes were the same. He thought my computer needed to be reflashed after the fix. I took it to Toyota where they ended up switching out the computer...free of charge.

Apparently 05 Corrollas have a "bulletin" on the faulty computers. they cause the check engine lights to light up & give those readings. It is not a recall because it is not a safety issue.

How do I adjust low idle adaptation on 2005 Tacoma prerunner 4.0

1. Relearn the idle speed by disconnecting the EFI fuse and the ECTS fuse from the under hood fuse box. Leave the fuses out for 2-3 minutes minimum. Reinstall the fuses. Using your finger, push the throttle plates closed completely. Hold the throttle plates closed completely and have a helper turn the ignition switch on. Release the throttle plates as soon as the key is turned on. Reinstall the boot to the throttle body and start the vehicle. Allow the vehicle to idle for 5 minutes. Test drive the vehicle and check for normal idle operation.

After reconnecting battery on a subaru outback car idles too low

If the alterntor has to work hard this could bring down you idle. and if the voltage regulator gets to hot and the "up the idle" signal does not reach the pcm then this could happen. But I'm 90% sure it's a bad grounding strap/cable cause this happend to me to. check the one to the trans. and the one to the body. and make sure they're clean with no rust or paint.

2005 colorado shuts off unexpectedly when ac is on..why?

Could be because the alternator is not charging properly (failing), and/or because the battery is weak.

The odometer and the epeeddometer on my toyota 2006 stop working

Usually a sign the speed sensor has failed. It bolts to the transmission in place of a speedo cable.
Could also be a problem in the cluster.

I have a 2005 suzuki forenza.. I loose coolant like its nothing no signs of leak.. Low rough idle..I replaced the plugs and wires and 02 sensor Engine light flashes at idle and stops flashing but remains...

Check your oil----is it very high? Put a piece of cardboard under your car overnight, see if you have any leaks externally. If not, then you have an internal leak, which indicates a blown head gasket.

Dead battery making a clicking sound

take the battery out of the veh and see if it will charge overnight on a charger, if not then the bat just ran its course I doubt it is 11 years old. Bats last anywhere from 3 to 5 years then they die if it does charge then your alternator needs to be replaced as it charges the battery when you drive, low voltage may cause the buzzing, tellin gyou there is a problem.
