At the bottom of the bumper where the plastic fender well liner meets the bumper there is a 10mm screw. Remove this screw. Using a screwdriver, insert it between this plastic fender liner and the fender and use leverage to pull the fender liner back just enough for you to get a hand in there. It's flexible enough and won't break on you. You can now reach the bulb socket near the top of the front of the fender. Change the bulb, bend the fender liner back and put the 10mm screw back in. Total time: 15 minutes or so.

There are no visable screws holding them. The turn signal bulb is virtually impossable to reach from the back. It appears that it will require the headlights to be removed to do this. If so are there any secrets to removeing the headlights.

Look at the turn signal lens, see if there are screws holding them, if they are, remove the screws and remove the signal light assembly, after removing, you can replace the bulb by removing the socket at the back of the lens assembly.

Change out a taillight

You want to change the tail light bulb?

The process for replacing tail light bulbs is the same in all models. If you have a burnt-out tail light bulb, you may need to replace the brake light, the reverse light or the turn signal. The procedure to replace each of the bulbs is the same.

    Instructions

    1. Open the Hummer's rear swing gate. This will expose the edge of the vehicle's tail light assembly. You'll see two small Phillips head screws that hold the tail light assembly in place. Put on your gloves.

    2. Remove the two screws from the tail light assembly. Pull the tail light out and inspect the back for two bulbs. The top bulb is the brake light and turn signal. The bottom bulb is the reverse bulb. Determine which bulb you need to replace.

3Rotate the bulb's socket counterclockwise to disconnect it. Unplug the bulb from its socket.

4Push the replacement bulb into its socket firmly. Insert the socket back into the tail light. Turn it clockwise to secure it in place.

5Place the tail light into its cradle. Hold it with one hand and replace the Phillips head screws with the other.

For Front turning signal, you need to remove the whole head light system to get to turn signal. 4 screws attach it to the car's body. Make sure to remove the lamps first and disconnect the switch for the turn signal lamp. Just replaced it last week myself.

Replace front driver signal light bulb

Depending on whether it is the front or the back turn indicator light will determine on what needs to be done. If it is the front turn indicator light open the hood of the car you may need to take the entire headlight out. The headlight may have screws, take the screws out then the front light will come out from the outside of the vehicle replace the burned out bulb. The bulb should snap right in and then put the headlight back in make sure you put all screws back in from the inside of the hood. Step2 If it is the back turn indicator light, go through the trunk of the vehicle. If there is a panel covering the lights you must unscrew the panel and then replace the burned out light bulb. Some panels can be folded down without removing all of the screws to access the lights. This light may not require for you to pop the entire light out you maybe able to just replace the bulb. After you have replaced it screw the panel back into place. The back light should not require the entire light to be lifted out just a simple bulb replacement. Step3 In replacing either the front or the back indicator light you must gain access to the turn signal housing which is usually in the same case as the headlight or your rear lights. It is very helpful to also get the owners manual out this will tell you exactly what type of bulbs you will need to get to replace the indicator bulb.
