At 1500 miles the front end was in need of alignment and the outside edge of the front tires were wearing down excessively. We took to the dealer and they aligned it When I went to rotate the tires at 5500 miles they were worn so bad that I didn't want to put the rear tires (which still looked brand new) on the front. I took the car to Sears they told us the front end was way out of alignment so we had them align it and rotate the tires on 9/13/08.Today I looked at the front tires and they are showing signs of wearing on the outside edge. What can be happening?

Once a were pattern is worn in tire s unless you rotate tires to the rear they will keep wearing you should rotate your tires every oil change especially if you do alot of around town driving i am willing to bet you that good year lied to you about the alignment i am sure the dealer put it into spec the first time you just need to rotate them a little more often

Can my car have a bent wheel on the front right and rear left, drove car 5000 miles last ten month and live in the south ,dealer says need new wheels ,tires, and alignment.

Bent wheel would be noticed, you should be seeing the tires wear out on the edges, check the inside and the outside edges of all the tires. IF you have not hit any holes or curbs there should be no issue with the rims. Alignment is another matter There are adjustments on the front and some cars on the rear, that control how the car rides, if it pulls one way or another then this is an indication that it is out of alignment. If it is a real dealer then they can show you how and why they think that is the problem. You did not post the year make and model but newer cars have to have alignments done by computer because the safety features are connected to the traction control etc.
tip

Keep your tires in good lasting shape

Did you ever see the statements in the tire dealer shops stating a specific tire model will last approx. 50-75,000 miles/
This will never happen unless you have your tires rotated every 7500 miles, the front tires wear excessively compared to the rear tires in 90% of the cars/trucks.
Why? Because the front tires in most cases are the drive tires(front wheel drive) causing the front tires to ocasionally spin causing excessive wear and also the front tires are the ones that guide your vehicle down the road, when you turn the steering wheel you are turning the front tires to make the car go in the direction you want thus causing more excessive wear to the front tires, in order to get even wear from front to back tires one must move the front tires to the back tires at 7500 mile intervals, making sure the tires only get rotated to the same side of the car each and every time, if you move a right rear tire to a left front position, severe damage may occur so please keep them same side rotations.
Also have your wheel alignment checked at a tire shop each time you bring it in for a wheel/tire rotation as pot holes, hitting curbs, etc all can effect the way the tires wear if the alignment goes out.

What kind of adjustments can be made to minimize outside edge tire wear on my 2001 Toyota Highlander V6 AWD?

If you are confident the wheel alignment is correct (first option) it may have excessive positive camber (lean in or out of the front wheel). This is often adjusted at the top of the strut tower (if fitted). A good front end mechanic would fix this problem in his sleep, you would not have to prompt him.

Front tyres bolding on the outside

Cars and trucks are supposed to have their tires rotated every 5,000 miles.
Doing this will only slow the wear on the outside of the tire. Whenever you turn a corner, the weight of the car and the forces of friction will cause the outside of the tries to wear off, the rubber is getting "scrubbed off".
Not rotating the tires will cause the outside of the front tires to wear out before any other part of any tire.
Then, there is the matter of worn "front end" parts.
The parts that wear most often and quickest are the tire rod ends. Next are the ball joints, and last are the shocks/struts.
When a car has about 100,000 miles, these parts begin to show their wear by causing bad tire wear.
Someone needs to check your car most carefully to see if any of these parts are causing your problem.
After all the worn parts are replaced, the last thing is the "front end alignment".
As you drive mile after mile, you occasionally hit bumps.
Although these bumps do not show up quickly, the bumps will, over time, cause the tires to become a little crooked, and about once every 3-6 years, the front end needs to be aligned, or have the tires straightened.
Be blessed.

I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 crew cab two wheel drive pickup. The front tires have been wearing on the insidefor a while. I have replaced the upper and lower ball joints , lower control arms ,and bal

Strange.
Has anyone checked the front end alignment on a rack ?
Usually when the tires wear on the inside edges the camber is off and the tires are running on the inside edge more than the outside.
Or the front suspension is too low or heavy.

E430 rear tyres scrubbing on iside shoulder approx 1 inch

I am not an Mercedes expert, but if your rear axle is not solid from one side to the other, you have one of a number of hinged floating rear axles. These may simply require an alignment, just as the front end requires.

With excess wear on the inside track of the tires, the inside of the tire is pitched down lower than the outside edge. Most rear tires are set to run level or slightly pitched to improve handling.

If your rear assembly is not adjustable, the connecting bushings are worn on the linked suspension or the rear axle bearings have excess clearance.

Go somewhere to have a 4 wheel alignment, not to be confused with 4 wheel drive.

Front tires on S10 wearing outside edges. Proper

All of the above on a bad day. You will need to find an alignment shop you trust and allow them to check more closely. To ask that kind of question is like you asking me 'How much change do you have in your pocket' of course there is not way for me to know.
I do know most professionals can tell you once they look at it.

You over cost should normally be under 200.00 for repairs and alignment. Look for a special in the paper or online.

I have uneven wear on my 2006 toyota tundra tires, the right tires are worn much more on the outer edge than the left. any thoughts?

You have a front suspension part that is worn and/or need the front end aligned. If problem is in the rear you may need a four wheel alignment. If it was low air pressure it would wear the inside and outside edges of the tires.

My front tires are showing wear, and they toe out when in reverse

Be sure to have tires rotated every 5000-6000-miles. Walmart is good for that.
Outside wear is normal for fronts from the turns at higher speeds.
When tierod ends were replaced it is advisable to get front end aligned. Its not impossible to replace with minimum change but if settings were done with worn parts, new parts will change it.

Tires wearing inside on 2008 Impala LT

this is a wheel camber (in and out tilt of wheel and tire) problem, u may have to have a Camber adjustment kit put in, most new cars have no adjustment provided for this. the bottom line here is you need to see a really good front end shop to get this taken care of, also the tires will continue to wear this way even if problem is corrected, so may want to replace them or rotate them.
