Question about 1992 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency
Only the bright lights work. the dimmer has been replaced, as well as the headlight switch. I have checked the fuses under the hood. I don't know where the relay is. It has the twillight sentiel switch and it appears to still function. I have continuity from the headlight socket to the battery terimals. But I have continuity from both termiinals to one terminal on the headlight socket... What 'cha think?

NEXT IS THE RELAY IF THE BULBS & FUSES ARE GOOD..CALL AUTO ZONE OR THE LIKE TO FIND OUT AVAILABILITY TO VERIFY YOUR OLDS HAS A RELAY.IM PRETTY SURE IT DOES.

if you have an Autozone near you they will put a tester on it for free or a place or parts store that sells testers and that way you can find out why the check engine light is on because it could be several things that can cause this light to be on

Your alternator may be going bad. Test your battery while it is running with a voltmeter. It should be above 13.0 volts. I would check that first.

get yourself a wiring diagram to see what powers up the relay, it is a fuse, have you checked the fuses? also these pumps short out and that is why it is not working and blown out the circuit, replace it before you do anthing, also remember that the pump is powered up by the PCM only during cold start, so 99% of the time it has no power to it.
