Moteur 4 cyl ou v6 2.8l, 4.3l?

Possiblement expansion entre le bloc moteur et tubulure admission(intake). Certains modeles coulent avec l'age. Remplacer les joints d'etancheite et le probleme devrait se regler. Desole pour les accents. Ordi barre sur clavier anglais.

How long since a tune-up? To check for some codes, use a jumper wire between A and B terminals at datalink connector. Then, turn key just till dash lights come on. The mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes, your looking for two digit numbers. This is 12 pin data link connector obd1.

Transmission problem. Sounds like the overdrive is gone.. Could be a easy fix or could be big fix.

Get the transmission checked

Could be fuel ? I would start by changing fuel filter, it has the quick-connect fittings (takes a special tool too remove the lines). If that did'nt work, then i would do a complete tune up. Plugs, cap, rotor and plug wires. Ps. make sure air filter is not clogged. And check for any vacuum leaks??
Do all this and i think you will be good for a long time...

Hi, Take the door pannel off. Get a small plastic prying tool to lift of the pannel. You may have some small screws to take out as well. If you need more help buy a manual. Good luck.

There are two different engine sizes at Pontiac Transport. You can find it reading the 8th digit of the Vehicle Identification Number. This is the engine code.
6-231 (3.8L, VIN "L")
6-191 (3.1L, VIN "D")

I found some engines, Engine Size 3.8L, for $750.

The ign coils should be marked. The front cylinders are 1 3 5 and the rears are 2 4 6..... the coils starting from the front is 1,4 5,2 3,6

The computer should be located behind the front passenger side kick panel by the right foot under the dash.

I had the same problem with my 1992 Transport. I fixed it by replacing the ignition module which took about 20 minutes, and should be easily accomplished by anyone with moderate repair skills. The problem with mine faulty ignition module was resolved temporarily by unplugging/re-plugging it from the computer (under the dash), or unplugging/re-plugging it from the distributor assembly harness. Every time I reseated the connector, the engine started up fine. I could also let the engine set a while, and it would restart. However, when it was decided to fail, there was no fuel being injected into the engine. This is logical since the ignition module tracks the engine RPM and sends this data to the computer to tell it how much fuel to inject. Check your fuel injectors when you crack it over when you experience the problem, and if you get no fuel, it's likely your ignition module. I think i paid 30 bucks at autozone for a new one.
