Keyless reprogram I have a 2001 mercedes ml320. I just replaced the batteries on my keyless remote. It's still not working. How do I reprogram the keyless remote?
Without warning both of my keyuless rermotes for my 2001 Mercedes M320 stopped working. The power locks work. I also replaced the batteries in both remotes. ???

I have tried the the solution and it works only the one time when you do step 3 and that is from inside the vehicle. Are there any other possible solutions, or am I suppose to do these step every time I leave the vehicle? so insert keys into ignition and turn to 2nd position then remove after how long or remove from 2nd position

Programming -Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter
NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) must be programmed at the same time. NOTE: All previous transmitter identification codes (TIC's) will be erased when programming mode is entered. NOTE: To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the generic electronic module (GEM)(14B204), perform the following steps.
Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN eight times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. If the GEM has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and unlock all the doors.
NOTE: The first TIC must be entered within 7.5 seconds of entering the program mode and additional TICs must be entered within 7.5 seconds of the first TIC. The programming mode is exited whenever the timing constraints are not met. Press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait for several seconds and press the button again.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to five minutes after step 1, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the GEM will lock and unlock all the doors one last time.
if its factory keyless entry, chances are your battery for your remote need to be replaced, the remote could also need to be reprogrammed... If it is an after-market system, there are several possibilities... wires could be pinched, the door lock solenoids could be broken or misaligned, the "brain" of the system might need to be reprogrammed.
Synchronization Turn ignition switch to position II. Turn ignition switch to position 0 and remove key. Within 1 minute: Press and hold key lock button. Press unlock button 5 times. You either have to replace the battery in your key fob or have it reprogrammed. Verify this by trying the second key, if you have it. AAA told me that you can reprogram it by leaving it in the ignition, with the key turned to the first position, overnight. I haven't tried it.
try changing the battery but to be honest mercedes have a real problem with there kyes if they loss the alarm code the dan things wont open the doors,,try to reprogram your key to the car alarm,
The batteries are flat like a nickel. the smaller end is the negitive end, the larger silver end is positive. Look inside the remote it will have marking corrisponding to the positive and negitive marks on the batteries.
You need to take your car to a chevy dealer because they have the procedure for that, if tou call they wont help you by phone, they charge afee for that.
