Lincoln LS wont start

THis wknd I just changed out the Valve Cover Gaskets as well as every other gasket in the cover. Connected everything and now when I go to start my engine it sounds like the started is going, the belt turns but the engine will not turn over. I am at a loss. I believer it is either not getting fuel or spark and just looking for anyone who may be able to help. Thanks

If the belt is moving , the engine is turning over
what you are trying to say is that it is cranking but not starting
I would be checking wire connectors for the cam position sensors , injector wires and any other connection s around the area you have been working
make sure that you have not caught a wire under a cover

SOURCE: Valve cover removal

See the cover, there are 8 or more screws, maybe one or two connect to a small part, but all of them should be on the cover, just loss all of them, you will get the cover out, before you change the gasket, clean the surface of both side, cover and the head, then use the grease instead of glue.slowly and make sure it is stright to cover it and screw back, do not make to tight, it is going to break the gasket and also do not maker too loss, it will be leaking. you have to do just right.

hope this can help you, if yo have any question, post it.

SOURCE: replace valve cover gaskets on subaru svx

I don't have experience with this engine but guess you won't have to remove it for valve cover gasket work but perhaps can lift it a bit [not by hand!] after loosening engine mounts.

SOURCE: 1997 Camry Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

Removal of the plenum is pretty straight forward. You will need to replace the plenum gasket after you remove it; the gasket is not reusable. Personally, if I was going to take the trouble to remove the plenum, I would replace the plugs and wires back there, also.
I know, I have a 93 Camry V6, and it is a real pain to do the plugs and wires with the plenum on. There are no secrets or great tips on the plenum removal, just take your time. Remember that there are different size bolts, and where they go. Please get back to me if you need any more info...Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa to resolve your issue.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Are the spark plugs under the top of the motor on my lincpln ls, and if so will i need a gasket to put back on when i change them

the coils act as the gasket but the valve covers can leak oil into the chamber for the sparkplugs and give driveability problems. there are gaskets for the valve covers that can correct this if you have oil in there. yes thye sparkplugs are in those recesses

Lincoln LS V8 2001: Where can I find step by step directions to change driver side coils?

You are right about the valve cover gaskets. The gaskets fail and oil fills the sparkplug wells with oil. The rubber boots get oil soaked causing the spark to short out which causes the coils to go bad. The only fix is to replace the gaskets.
I replaced the gaskets and the COPS(coil on plugs) over a year ago, and haven't had anymore problems with the coils. I bought the valve cover gaskets from the local Ford-Lincoln dealer. Lincoln up graded the gaskets in late 2002, and from what I have heard, they are the best you can buy.. I bought all 8 COPS on a popular online auction from a seller with excellent feedback, and saved quite a bit of money. You should replace any COP that has oil on it. I replaced all of them so I wouldn't have to do it again! It took about an hour to install the gaskets and COPS.Make sure that you get all of the oil out of the sparkplug wells. I also replaced the sparkplugs.

I have a 2005 Lincoln LS with an intermittent problem with ignition coils. The "Check Engine" light comes on and each time it show a code for a faulty engine coil, but each time it shows a different coil....

I have a lincoln ls 2002 and have had the same problems. It is corrected by changing the valve cover gaskets. The oil leaks down into the coils and fouls them out. You will not see the oil around the valve covers on the outside but this should fix the problem. It worked for me

2000 ls cylinder 4,6,7,8 misfire

Your cylinders are most likely misfiring because of faulty coils. Each cylinder has its own seperate coil and the coils get oil on them from leaking valve cover gaskets in these cars.

They are relatively easy to replace however.
I would also change the valve cover gaskets if their is oil on any of the coils.

I hope this helps,
