Test the battery first then go through the ground wires, there will be a few and if one of them have corrosion or are not connected you will not get full voltage to the starter,

2002 Chevy Tahoe. Car wont Start, Starter will keep on trying to start even with key out.

I'd look at the starter solenoid. It also contains the switch contacts that actually connects the battery to the motor. It may be starting to stick.

Hi my 95 model vs commondore would not start, charged battery it wont windover and makes this clicking noise.

the clicking noise is from the starter motor not getting enough charge to wind over properly...check battery is holding a full 12 volt charge.
if commodore is manual - put it into third gear and get someone to help you rock the car back and forward (with handbrake off and ignition off of course)if starter motor is 'jamming' this can release it. ive seen many bush mechanics hit the side of the starter motor in holdens with a hammer to release it also.( with an auto this is your only option.)
other wise if battery is proven to be good - go to the wreckers and buy another starter motor.

Hi!

I still think its a bad starter because when they go bad sometimes, You still hear the starter running but it doenst do anything. Because the starter runs one way and lock the other and when the Bendix goes bad that's the symptoms it keep just running. here is what you can do. Take the starter out and see if the little gear on it only turns one way, If it turn both way then you starter is bad. Good luck bro

I have a 2005 Tahoe with 43,000 miles and it will not start. It is not the battery. When you turn on the key all it will do is click and all light will come on.

Most likely the battery--even though you say no

If the battery is new ,then the solenoid on the starter
or the starter it's self

Find the starter relay in the fuse box under the hood and swap it with another relay of the same type. If the starter works then the relay is no good. Also check any fuse that is labeled Ign. or Bat.

My 1997 chevy tahoe does not start right away.

Sounds like a starter problem, suggest you get it checked at your local trusted mechanic the next time it starts... If the starter is your problem it wont start for many more times.

Only makes a clicking noise and wont start

First, remove the battery terminals and clean them. Check that the ground wire on the block is tight and clean and the wire at the starter is also good. If you have 12v at the main starter cable and12v at the smaller (trigger) wire next to it with the key turned to the "start" position, it's likely the starter is bad (providing you can turn the engine by hand with key switch off) Make sure that the battery has 12v before starting diagnosis...radio etc. draw far less than the starter does. Even if relatively new, if the charging system isn't working, it will draw down the battery in less than an hour while driving..

Car wont start

On all the older ford made products, there was a solonoid on the fender that made the clicking noise. It was about $20.00. On the 95 T/C, they have the same type starter Chevy and other cars have. It has the solonoid on the starter. It looks like you are going to have to replace the starter. It is closer to $200.00. Wish I had better news.

My daughtrs 2001 Chevy s10 has an itermitant starting problem.

quick way to tell... next time it won't crank and just clicks... hit it gently with a hammer as you have someone attempt to start it... if all of a sudden it cranks.... it's the starter... replace it before it quites completely.
