2002 Mitsubishi Galant no start, no spark, no injector pulse

Plz help!!! Hello, last month drove car less than a mile and when I tried to start her back up a few hours later the car cranked but would not start. Eliminated (I believe) all diagnostics in tree for no start. Since have discovered, along with no spark, no pulse from injectors, jumped timing belt (by 2 teeth on larger belt), no compression cylinders 1,3 (I believe) which sure valves bent. Replaced ECU (had parts place order to find exact match with my VIN). All wiring and sensors have been checked and are fine. This is driving me crazy!! even with bent valves and timing reset to marks, there should be spark! (yes coil packs/boots/plugs test good.) anyone have any ideas, because I am out!?!?

2002 galant will start up fine cold and run for 20 min, after hot soak will not start, back fires through intake

Yes your 4 cyl engine uses direct spark with a coil over each spark plug.
And the computer controls the firing of the plugs and injector pulse.
The problem could be the crank or cam sensor, or the wiring harness, but in most cases the check engine light should be on and a code set.
You might want to check the computer for codes, then try the cam sensor.

I have a 2002 mistubishi galant 4 cyllinder, my check engine light it one, when i had the code pulled, it came back as the cat converter... If i drive on the freeway for 15 minutes, next time i start it...

Let the engine cool and remove the spark plugs.Examine them.Check the gap on them.If they have over fifteen thousandths of an inch greater gap than spec. says, they probably have a lot of miles and need replaced anyway.
If over 100,000 miles or nearly so,replace the spark plug wiring too.don-ohio

Galant won't turn over when trying to start. No spark from plugs. Changed crank sensor and timing belt and still won't start. Any suggestions

you now need to check for 12 volt power, and signal to the coil, also be sure all you timing marks are correct, if you have no spark, unplug one of the injectors and using an led test light check for injector pulse power across the two terninals while cranking, if you have no injector pulse then you could have a problem with the ignition passlock system, or key decoder

1995 galant died the other day wasn't getting any fuel replaced the fuel pump the works but car still wont start

You need three things to run: spark, fuel, compression (timing). Check for spark simple, check for fuel (crank over engine and pull spark plugs, is fuel on them? ) if not rent noid lights from Autozone or such to check upon injector pulse. If nothing let me know and we'll look further in to it.

02 Mitsubishi Galant, changed igniton but now wont start

There is no simple answer, there are to many variables. If you have access to a scan tool, pulling the codes should help. Without them its back to old school hunt and peck method. At this point we need to narrow down the problem. You need to test for spark.
  1. Tag and disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
  2. Remove the spark plugs and install the spark plug wires to each spark plug.
  3. Ground (do not hold spark plug) the spark plug; check if spark occurs while engine is being cranked.
Crank the engine for no more than 2 seconds at a time to prevent flooding the engine with gasoline.
If you have spark, You will want to make sure you have fuel injector pulse, along with fuel pressure. If you have spark ..simply spray some starting fluid in through the air filter and hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank it over while spraying. If it fires up, you know it is fuel related( fuel pump, regulator, or ECM if no injector pulse) . If you have no spark then look at ignition coil connection and trace through to the distributor( if equipped ). The crank shaft sensor has a tendency to fail on these as well. This should give you a few things to test and check to start you on your way to narrowing it down. If you have no spark then look at ignition coil connection for power and trace through to the distributor( if equipped ). If it is DIS( no distributor). It may be the Crank sensor or the ECU. The crank shaft sensor has a tendency to fail on these as well.
The ECU uses the signal sent from the Crank sensor to trigger the spark and fuel injectors. ( make certain you have checked all fuses)

No gas coming out the injector and there is gas pressure to the injector?

Is there an injector pulse going to the injector?(an electrical pulse to fire the injector).
Is there spark at the plugs?
If the pickup in the dist is faulty you won't have either one.
If your vehicle uses a crank pickup with or instead of dist pick up....if it is defective ....no pulse.
The above is 90% cause of no pulse....other is computer problem 10%.
If you do have a injector pulse and no spray.....and have fuel pressure....change the injector.
A quick check for spark is spray a little starting fluid in it.....if it starts on the fluid....spark is present.

Engine not starting turns over good, clean out gas tank and replace fuel filter and blew out the lines and have power to the plugs

Do you have pulse to the fuel injectors? The besy way to test is with a set of NOID lites; these can be rented at many places like AutoZone for little or no cost. Unplug a fuel injector and plug in a noid light; if there is no flash you know you have minimized your search. My gut feel is your trucks ECU (Engine Control Unit) these units from early 90's Mitsubishi have big isses with the capacitors leaking (a matter of when not if). I fully expect you'll need to replace the ECU (the NOID lites will confirm this) when changing the ECU you want to identify it by the MD number on it, this it what you'll need to order a new one. I have had two Montero's and now my son's 3000GT all of whichhad their ECU's fail.
This issue can effect either spark or injector pulse.

Service engine light on 2002 mitsubishi galant

it could be the spark plugs, at least that is what it was for mine, if you have over 50k miles without a spark plug change i highly suggest one, also a oil /transmission change would be great for your car too if you haven't done those reciently. I would also suggest using a higher grade gas, sometimes this fixes the trick too.
If you try all those and still experiencing hard transitions please let me know and i'll try a more indepth analysis on your car.
Thanks jyotsna.
