FixYa.com claims they have factory repair manuals, they have nothing of the sort, this is not to say some experts may have manuals, we do, but we work from home and in most cases have a small library. Experts are not employed by FixYa.com, we help free of charge as much as we can with the general automotive knowledge we have learned while working as auto technicians, specific test values, repair procedures and illustrations are unique to each car line, these are not in most cases available to us. Thanks for using FixYa!

Common leaks on GM vehicles with oil coolers are at the fittings and where the oil filter spins on is the adapter for the cooler lines. Remove it,clean it and replace the gasket(s) and "O"ring. Only two bolts! Easy but messy fix. Gaskets and "O"ring available from GM dealer or most local parts stores.

2004 gmc yukon lite came on low oil pressure just had oil change 5 days ago checked it was low about a qt. Has 157,000 miles what can be the cause

There can be alot of causes, such as valve covers leaking, oil pan gasket leaking, oil filter leaking, rear main seal leaking, front timing chain cover seal or gasket leaking even bad rings. Does it smoke out of the back? Your valve seals could be leaking. Best way to find out if you have a leak is to inspect the valve covers manually, or take newspapers and lay them under the entire engine on the ground, and it will leave the tell tale stain of a leak. Hope this helps.

WEll, that is a bummer. Perhaps something else is leaking. It is possible that too much travel is allowing the slave to travel beyond the end of the cylinder.

Ihave a 2000 gmc sierra that has a oil leak down

check for 2 steel cooling lines going to the radiator for leaks at the transmission....but more than likely the oil is coming from the valve covers...if you fix it use the rubber gaskets. if it doesn't leak much just hose the tranny once in a while for it is a rough and it is expensive undertaking at a garage.....it pro is not the rear main seal-which is also not a picnic....keep a check on you eng oil level.....luck to you

Noise from top of engine

Interesting analogy Could be a lot of things. If engine running fine other than noisy I would pour into the oil 1/2 cup of ATF, (automatic transmission fluid) as being a detergent oil it will free up sticky lifters and clean engine. I put ATF in every time I change my oil. Hope this helps. Pleas rate suggestion so I can see if worth my time helping solve problems... ty
