Battery went dead? If this is the case you probably have a dead short.Should pull starter possibly bad solinoid, My old Maxima had caused me similar issue, if you pull starter it usually can be tested at a local Auto parts store. In a vehicle that fails to start, the common problems are the starter solenoid and the starter motor. The starter assembly can be quickly pulled from a 1995 Nissan Maxima, and then can be further separated to replace one part of the starter assembly. The process does not require any special tools, and can be done by novice mechanics

My chevy 95 Tahoe has been parked for a while with no battery, now I put a new battery, it cranks but won't sta st?

I ran into a similar problem with a Cavalier, turns out that the on-board computer needs to have constant power. Even if the battery is very low or even dead, it still has to be connected. If the battery is removed it breaks the circuit and stops the command that lets the engine start. After the new battery was installed it would crank but not start, the dealership told me that I had to have it towed to them to have the comp reset, which would have cost around $150 total. Thankfully a mechanic friend of mine had a diagnostic machine and was able to reset it for me - cost me a case of beer. He then showed me a (not so simple) trick around this for the future. Once it is running again remember this. 1 Have the new battery and jumper cables ready, 2 Loosen the battery terminals on the dead battery but DON'T take them off. 3 Connect jumpers to the car battery cables and to the new battery, like you were jump starting from just the new battery. 4 Remove the terminal cables from the dead one in the car and remove dead battery (be careful not to let them come off the cables OR the good battery) it's OK if it disconnects briefly, but reconnect it A.S.A.P. 5 Put the new battery in and connect the terminals BEFORE removing jumper cables. Once they're on the terminals just take away the jumpers and tighten the nuts. That's how you change a battery without letting the car ever lose power. Hope that helps Jose. Good luck, safe driving. I tried to check the fuses of my fords windstar for the right window, cause it was not working. But then , when start my windstar 95, it won't start. when turn on, nothing i wrong, but when to turn it...

Make sure battery has a full charge. Use a digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off, what is the reading? The generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. Note the reading. Leave the leads touching the battery posts, have helper turn key to crank, how much does the reading drop? Usually it shouldn't drop below 9.6 volts or there about. If it drops to zero, try charging the battery. Check battery cables. Did you try jumper cables to see if it would crank?

My Cavalier died while i was drving down the road and now it wont crank, like the battery is dead but it is not the battery. Any answers what this could be?

Make sure both battery cable ends are clean on the inside, If your car still has side posts, it takes very little corrosion. 1 tablespoon of baking soda in one cup of water and an old toothbrush work great for cleaning them. After that, check the other end of both cables to make sure they are clean and tight.

95 LEBARON won't start, its dead not the battery

If the battery and the starter are good then you need to check the ground to the motor,or clean the battery cable ends with a knife to get off the black **** that builds up on them over time.

96 Nissan Maxima. Has new starter. Wouldn't

Did you have the new starter tested befor you installed it? Was their a lot of corosion on the battery cables? The cables might be corroded as well cousing too much resistance for the starter to crank.

95 maxima not moving after putting into gear

Sounds like you may want to check if one of your cv axles has popped out of the transmission(usually the driver's side because the right on is bolt into a support bracket).

93 Nissan Maxima does not start after replacing the battery.

you have a parasitic drain on the battery, you need to have the car tested with an amp meter to determine what is causing the draw. an easy way to see if you have a draw is to remove the negative battery cable hook one end of test light to positive on battery and the other end to the cable you dis connected if the light is on you have a draw from the battery, hope this helps if not get back to me and we'll do some other tests.please rate my fix as i strive to be the best Thanks Ray
