My Jeep has been having problems starting; I will be out driving all day and then get in and it won't start. It does crank. I had a new fuel pump installed bc it once started by someone banging on the gastank but then it happened again within a week. I have noticed that at times, the dash alarms are weak when i turn the key-not sure if this has anything to do with it. Battery is not even a year and tested fine. Any thoughts?

the drain plug is located on the back of oil pan in the center. if you have a rock guard you have to remove this first. the pcv valve(positive crankcase vent is located on either the left valve cover in front or on theif it's a v6 or 8 or it is located on the valve cover in the back in a straight six it will have a hose that goes to your air filter breather box or the breather hose. please rate this...........thanks

Same thing happened to me at about 140k. It was the fuel pump. Best way to test if your pump is failing and loosing pressure is to see if the car will start immediately after it has been running, or turn the key to the alt position for a few minutes before starting. If your engine fires faster after it has been running or the key has been in the alt position you will probably need a new fuel pump. Great news is with a very deep socket to get the tank straps off its a 30 minute job to replace the pump/filter assembly.

make sure the coolant in radiator is full to level and if thats o.k. you need to replace the thermostat since the engine does not reach operating themp.

You need to take the jeep to a dealer or a good mechanic who can retreive the codes out of the computer. You may have a module problem but I will not guess without knowing the codes.
