Check to see if COOL HI fan fuse under hood is blown if so replace, test wires voltage and fan motor.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your

Re: where is the fan relay sensor on a 2005 chevy equinox
I had the same problems! First and easiest thing to do is to replace all 3 Fan relays ans inspect the sockets they plug into (common problem). The first 2 relays for the fans "hot" 12v+ wires are under the hood in the fuse box on the drivers side. The 3rd relay, this one switches the ground(-12v). it is located underneath the drivers side headlight area. Again, simple replace all 3 of these before they burn up and damage your wire harness "plug"(socket). If this does not fix your no fan problem, its most likely a bad fan.

Well the first thing that leapt of the page was that you said you had two batteries and you undid the clamps to both, but then I realised to meant you undid both clamps to one battery. That is actually the worst thing to do because now you have to reset the security system and engine immobilizer.
Make sure your battery clamps and posts are cleaned with a wire brush, wipe with Vaseline or Dielectric Grease and then make sure the clamps are tight. Then put the battery on to charge. This says you have low voltage.
DTC P0480 registers when the PCM doesn't receive the proper amount of voltage from the cooling fan control circuit that should indicate that the fan works properly. This code can be caused by a faulty cooling fan relay, a bad cooling fan, damaged wiring, or a bad coolant temperature sensor. Jan 19, 2024

P0480 is a general OBD2 trouble code that refers to the a malfunction within the cooling fan control circuit. This code is similar to P0481 and P0482 codes.
Should be a relay somewhere in the engine compartment - may be failing. You may be able to switch with another relay to diagnose. Check your owners manual under fuses and relays.
Hello: You may have a cooling fan(s) problem. Start the truck, turn the a/c on max, both fan and a/c control. Open hood the cooling fan(s) should be running. If not then you will need hands on trouble shooting. It could be fan(s) motor(s), relays, relay control, ie PCM, wiring, fuse etc. Systematic hands 0n trouble shooting will be needed with a upscale scan tool.
REPLACE THERMOSTAT BUT IT SOUND LIKE FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.BUT CHECK COOLING FAN FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL IS GOOD HOT WIRE COOLING FAN IF COOLING FAN WORKS.PROBLEM COULD BE FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. DAMAGE FAN WIRING OR FAULTY PCM.IF COOLING FAN DONT RUN WHEN HOT WIRED.REPLACE FAN AND MOTOR.
Most likely has a cooling fan not working, check for a bad relay for the cooling fan ,and the high side pressure switch,it is in a high side line,it tells the cooling fans to come on.
CHECK COOLING FAN FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH GOOD SCAN CAR TO CHECK COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAULT CODE.THE PCM AND COOLANT TEMP. SENSOR IS WHAT CAUSE FAN TO RUN AT CERTAIN TEMPERATURE.IF ALL IS GOOD.HOT WIRE COOLING FAN USING JUMPER WIRES TO BATTERY.IF FAN DONT RUN REPLACE FAN MOTOR.IF FAN RUNS YOU HAVE SHORT OR BROKE WIRE IN THE COOLING FAN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.
"bad" or dirty antifreeze is still wet and gets just as hot as good antifreeze. That's not your problem. Re-check that the sensor you put in is still good, may be defective. Make sure that the coolant level is full, if coolant does not reach the sensor, that could cause a problem. Otherwise, assuming that your tests are good, check wiring to make sure signal is getting where it needs to go. Could be computer but that is pretty rare.
