1991 Jetta leaking antifreeze

Hi there, my 1991 VW jetta is leaking antifreeze fast. It virtually pours out from underneath the car. Not quite under the engine, but somwhere around where the transmission is located. Any ideas on what the leak is and how to fix? It seems to only leak or leak faster when the engine is running and the fan kicks in.

i should add that there was steam coming out of the vents inside my car... could this be the heater hose leaking? how can I fix it if so? And how can I be sure?

SOURCE: 2004 VW Jetta engine compartment fuze box location

one is located over the battery, the other is located in the side of the dash.

First panel:
If you pop your hood the battery will be on your right sid in the front of the engine bay. There is a small rectangular piece on top of the battery with a lot of heavy guage red wires going to it. That is the engine bay fuse box.

Second panel:
if you open your driver side car door it's under neath a panel located inbetween the door and the dash board.

Bring the car into a repair shop and have them pressure test it for leaks or you can purchase a pressure tester make sure you get the appropriate adapter for your cars radiator filler neck or resovoir, and check for leaks yourself. Make sure the car is cold and there is the appropriate mixtiure of coolant and water in the system, prior to pressure testing. Also do a visual inspection of the cooling system when the vehicle is cold and look for leaks.

Leaking antifreeze but not overheating

It could be in one of the hose's or it can be your radiator itself . Also check were the hose meets the engine block you could have a bad thermostat gasket.

I found some moisture in oil cup VW Jetta 98

I assume you mean the oil filler cap? Or perhaps the little receptacle that is there to pour oil in? Some moisture is normal. In cold climates you can count on quite a noticeable amount of condensation.

VW Jetta 98 - When I turn the helm the horn sounds

that sounds like the horn contact ring is faulty. this is mounted underneath the steering wheel and basically conducts the voltage through to the horn switches. had quite a few with the same symptoms and would check this part first. hope this helps

Antifreeze leak

It could be the hose clamp if that's where is leaking from, but if the water pump has some miles on it, it could be time for a new water pump. Good luck
