How to replace a ignition control module on a 95 cadillac deville

The light being on means the system has detected a problem in one or more sensors. The vibration is the ABS modulating the brakes to prevent skidding because it has detected a wheel that is locked up. That wheel is most likely the one sensor that is giving you the error.

Ignition Coils/Modules
The electronic ignition system uses an individual ignition coil for each cylinder. There are two separate ignition module assemblies located in the camshaft cover of each cylinder bank. Each ignition module assembly contains an ignition control module and four ignition coils. Each ignition coil connects directly to a spark plug using a boot. This arrangement eliminates the need for secondary ignition wires. The ignition module assemblies receive power from a fused ignition feed. Both ignition module assemblies connect to chassis ground. A Reference Low and four ignition control (IC) circuits connect each ignition module assembly to the PCM. The PCM uses the individual IC circuits to control coil sequencing and spark timing for each ignition coil. The IC circuits transmit timing pulses from the PCM to the ignition control module to trigger the ignition coil and fire the spark plug. The PCM controls ignition system sequencing and timing events

Powertrain control module (PCM)

PCM is the Powertrain Control Module. If you use the fan down button it will scroll through the different systems ACP ICP TCS etc. The PCM is the one you want to worry about though. Pushing the fan up button will select the pcm. Then it will give you options from there. The PCM controls ignition, shifting points, and a whole bunch of other related things.

If you have a distributor-- it is in there

There is no bypassing it

Hello: On the passenger side, Behind the glove box on top of the heater case is the Body control module, From underneath (passenger side) along side of the Programmer is the Engine control module. There is no one main ECU. This information applies to the sedan devilles with the 4.9 engine

You have checked and the fuel preasure is good, you need to make sure theres enough fuel preasure, if thats okay then the next step is to check the control module , this can be tested at many autopart stores. before removing the module spray starting fluid into the throtlebody and see if engine runs for a few seconds, if it does then its a fuel problem and may be the pump but if it doesnt then go and have the ignition module tested. hope this helps.
