How do i add transmission fluid
First locate the dip stick for the transmission under the hood, after that start car and let run for 1 min,( car has to be running to check transmission) pull dip stick out and wipe it off the stick it back in and check the level again, if it is low you will have to pour the trans. fluid in thru the dip stick hole, add a little at a time and continue to check fluid level until it reachs fill mark on dip stick also the do not make a manuel for the Lincoln LS you can order a disk from Helminc.com that covers all related thigns for this car I had to order one for my LS good luck

I believe that trans is of the 5R55N/S/W family, and the fluid level AND fill are both located on the bottom trans pan. There is a procedure and fill cautions as well as tools required,as per Ford Motor Co.

H, yiour vehicle has no transmission dip stick, here is the procedure from Lincoln.
Use a OBDII scan equipment to monitor Transmission Fluid Temperature, start the vehicle and run engine at idle until fluid temperature is between 80° to 120° F (27° to 47°C). Shift through gears slowly stopping in each gear allowing it to engage. Put in PARK position. With engine running put vehicle up on hoist level as possible. Hold the larger drain plug with a wrench and remove the small center plug. Allow the fluid to drain, making sure that the fluid is between 80° to 120° F (27° to 47°C). If the fluid comes out as a thin stream or drip, the fluid is at the correct level. Reinstall the small center plug and tighten to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm).
You will need a special fitting available from Lincoln and screw it into where the fluid level indicator was. Add new transmission fluid to a suction gun, attach the gun to the fitting and add fluid in 1/2 pint increments, wait one minute, if the fluid comes out in a thin stream or drips the level is correct. If not add another 1/2 pint.
SOURCE: Where do i add transmission fluid in my 2004
There is no need to add, unless it leaks
The way it is filled, is through a 3/8" pipe plug on to tail housing
or blowing it into the center of the trans pans drain plug, after
removing the center 1/8" pipe plug and using an adaptor going to
your pressurized container.
With the car at 180 degrees or more and level, remove the center
pipe plug and the fluid should just run out.
The drain plug it's self ,serves as the level indicator,it has a tube
extending upward ,that establishes the correct level.
SOURCE: how do you add transmission
the transmission is sealed so you shouldn't have to add fluid unless there is a leak find the leak first to add fluid there is a bolt on the right side of the trany i think that's where you add the fluid but you will have to use a pump because of the angle.
