96 STARTING PROBLEMS

My 96 accent has a problem starting. It will start most of the time. But when it doesnt start it becomes a real pain. It just keeps turning over and over, untill battery is almost dead. But if i get some one to push it and pop-er into 2nd gear she starts right up. HELP ME, this is driving me nuts.

The 1st thing to do is check the fuel pressure when it won't start, the cranking circuit may not be turning on the fuel pump, the run and crank are 2 separate circuits in all electric fuel pumps, so the ignition switch could be an issue here, but check the pressure while cranking during a no start, then let me know what you find.

Is push starting and jump starting the same thing? i have a 96 ford ranger 4.0. i had a problem with my truck startin i changed the solenoid on the fender it started a few times then that was it. the only...

No push starting is not the same as jump starting.Jumpstarting is done buy using another vehicle or battery like a jumper pack to give it power. It sounds like you will need to change the starter it's self.It most likely has what they call a dead spot in it and either needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Starting Problem

do not i will say it again do not spray starter fluid in to the breather as you will destroy your mass air flow sensor. check or change your crank sensor and your cam sensor.. i have had the same problem and it took me like 3 months to find that out.. i have a 2000 hyundai accent and it it would start from a cold start with no problem but once it warmed up it would stall... besides the crank shaft sensor is one of the cheapest parts you can change ............

My 96 astro doesnt is slow starting when cold.

If you mean in cold weather try a winter blend oil and allow your van to warm up a little 5 minutes before driving.
