Radio, power locks, interior lights, do not work, service engine light

Just had the cooling fans replaced. upon picking it up the power locks, iinterior lights and radio do not work. in addition the service engine light is on, which wasnt when it was brought in. what could we do to troubleshoot the problem? We have checked all of the fuses, circuits, etc. The mechanic said to bring it back but claims it isnt their problem even though all of these things worked prior to them taking it apart. i feel something had to be missed or damaged during the repair

SOURCE: Electrical problem

I just had the same issues. No headlights, interior lights, power door locks, radio controls on steering wheel, or dash lights. Pulled every fuse in cab and under hood, not a one was bad. I disconnected the battery terminals for a few minutes. When I reconnected them every thing was working.

SOURCE: 2001 Grand Caravan - Radiator Fan Control Circuit Problem

The relay that is located right usually in the middle of the fans is stuck open.Take that off and take it to the nearest parts store and they should have it in stock. Its kind of a common problem. That relay is designed to finish cooling off the car before they shut off and they'll run with the keys out.If the relay is bad they'll keep on running till the battery is dead..

This is likely a short in the power distribution block located on your stearing column. There was a recall for this problem. Contact the dealer for information.

You folks never learn, you can't use just any aftermarket sound system in these newer vehicles. The electronics are all networked together. I have no idea what you have damaged.

TSB#05-06-02-012B: Service Engine Soon (SES) or Check Engine Light On, DTC P0480, P0526/P1481/P1484 Set (Replace Engine Cooling Fan Wiring Harness) - (Oct 19, 2006)
Subject:
Service Engine Soon (SES) or Check Engine Light On,
DTC P0480/P0526/P1481/P1484 Set (Replace Engine Cooling Fan Wiring Harness)
Condition
Some customers may comment that the Service Engine Soon (SES) or Check Engine light is illuminated. This condition may be intermittent and upon investigation, the technician may find either DTC P0480, P0526, P1481 or P1484 set.

Cause
This condition may be caused by the cooling fan harness chaffing against the plastic guide it routes through. This
contact may damage the insulation of the wires enclosed in that harness.

Correction
Replace the engine cooling fan harness using the procedure listed below.

1. Remove the cooling fan. Refer to the Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement procedure in the Engine Cooling sub-section of SI.

2. Place the cooling fan assembly on a bench.
Disconnect the harness electrical connector from the cooling fan clutch.

3. Remove the harness from the plastic guide while feeding the wires out of the slot.

4. Before installing the new harness, wrap the affected area on the wires with electrical tape to keep the protective sleeve in place. Be sure to keep the tape approximately 25 mm (1 in) away from the connector so the wires can be fed into the slot.

5. Feed the wires into the slot and install the harness to the plastic guide.

6. Connect the harness electrical connector to the cooling fan clutch.

7. Install the cooling fan. Refer to the Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement procedure in the Engine Cooling sub-section of SI.
